The Hercules DS590B Double Bass Stand offers a unique design that provides easy access to both the instrument and bow. The stand is sturdy with two locking pins, and strong construction makes it great for both display or on stage purposes. There is no need to worry about the DS90B damaging the finish of your prized bass, it features soft Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) at all possible contact points. An arm on the back of the stand extends for a bow and the stand sits high enough to allow the endpin to stay extended a few inches.

A quality bass stand that folds flat for transporting to gigs. The only issue is the mechanisms for folding the stand require more than a finger so I use the eraser end of a pencil which is just the right size and grips nicely.

Some say wow its big but so is the bass going in it. Well built best one ive found.

Do not buy this product unless you don't mind lowering your endpin when you store it, and lifting your endpin when you take it off the stand.
The stand is a little frustrating because you have to lower your endpin for the bass to fit. This means it takes a while to put the bass away. This is not a good stand if you want to just put down your bass from time to time (unless you are very short and barely extend the end pin).
Good quality
I bought this stand because it was one of the least expensive ones I could find. Unfortunately, because you must lower the endpin before storing the bass, I don't find it very useful. I am going to replace it shortly.

Would be nice if it had some instructions. It is basic but hinges slightly. Large but fit a 3/4 String Bass nicely and very sturdily. My nephew is very happy with it.

hope this helps the next person. all my uprights are 3/4 .
i now use the SD590B at home to hold "miss kay" in the living room with the end pin retracted, except on acoustic gigs when i lean her in the corner at the wine shop...end pin set to playing length. a shame the wall corner works better.
they should have let some of us real upright players beta test the design.
very disappointed.
the stand is well built, but unless you are vertically challenged, and most of us have the endpin adjusted out more than a couple inches, the stand is not tall enough off the floor, so the bass will not balance unless you retract the endpin. way to much hassel for gigs.
if you are just sitting the bass in the stand with the end pin retracted..say in your music room or at a store, then it is a well built stand. and without the upper arm, you can play the bass in the stand....the angle is not bad. except you might end up leaning over it like a drunk at the bar becasue it is not adjustable so the height is pre-set and in my case to low.
well built. i have at least 6 of the Hercules guitar type locking stands, and a mike stand from Hercules.
Good padding. Nice locking feature when the stand is open. easy to carry when folded.
too bad they blew it on the height from the floor issue.
as i said, very disappointed. if you do not extend your endpin past a couple inches then this is the stand del-a-creme. i do, so for me it is the stand in-da-corner.
