Comments about P&H FG Cello Bow with Replaceable Horsehair:

I am a strings teacher and thought this bow sounded like a good idea. However, the frog of the bow is made of extremely cheap plastic and the ferrule broke off within one month of normal student use. This is a poor quality bow and should be avoided.

Comments about P&H FG Cello Bow with Replaceable Horsehair:

Unfortunately, no matter how much I adjusted the tension or applied rosin to this bow, I could not make it produce a decent tone. I had to replace it with a different bow.

Comments about P&H FG Cello Bow with Replaceable Horsehair:

I love these bows. I currently own 5 of them, including one that is 8 years old, and it still works great. The fiberglass stick does not deform if left under tension, and you can dial in the springiness you want. Changing a hank is a breeze, I have done it on stage in 30 seconds. It takes longer to rosin a hank than to change it. If you want a little more weight at the tip, you can wrap a bit of tinfoil on the tip to suit your tastes. Ok, you won't play Carnegie Hall like that, but on any rock or jazz gig, no one will care.

I am a Julliard-trained cellist, and I've had expensive bows. Trust me, this one works as well, as long as you follow the instructions how to rehair it.

Comments about P&H FG Cello Bow with Replaceable Horsehair:

Meh, not impressed. I should have listened to the reviews. Their violon bow was well-reviewed so I figured they must have gotten this one right as well. Wrong.
The complaints the other two reviewers logged before me are basically the same issues I have. Can't seem to tension the hair tight enough to get a firm tone. I'm primarily going to use this for bowing cymbals, but having studied violin for 8 years, I can say that this is not really well made.
