        After hearing from Musician's Friend's excellent customer service, I have learned that the package label refers to the type of bow it is to be used on. It might have been less confusing if it had read fiberglass bow as hank refers to hair... The hank itself was easy to use and I am happy with the sound my violin makes.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        This was my first attempt at re-hairing a bow and I found it to be a fairly simple task. The write up says horsehair hank, however, the plastic bag containing the hair says fibreglass hank. Not sure who to believe.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

              I have replaced the hair on several violin bows and wanted to try to use a pre-measured and pre-tied replacement hair designed to be used on single brand. I installed the hair on a fiberglass bow of another brand and although a tad short, worked just fine. It saved me the time to tie one end and I like the brass clamps used to secure the hair.

              Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
