        Comments about The String Centre Aurolar Hard Maple Violin Bridges:

        Just as a warning, for those novices who are looking for a cheap replacement for their bridge, this might not be the best option. This bridge is a blank, meaning that it is meant to be carved, sanded and shaped specifically for your violin. The basic bridge shape is there, but either you or a luthier will have to work on it to make it sound half way decent.

        I approached it as a challenge for my cheap violin, so I did the shaping myself, but you might be better served ordering a bridge that is already shaped, or just going to your local string shop and having a professional fit you a new bridge.

        For what it's worth, the sound I've achieved through mine has been perfectly fine, if not a little "nasal", but I still need to make some adjustments to the feet.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        The bridge seemed pretty sturdy but had a hairline fracture close to the bottom that prohibits use as stress will break it apart.
