Overall great. See my comments in "Features". It says it all.
As clear pickguards go, I've bought a lot of them. The reason is, I buy fingerstyle guitars a lot, but use them also for strumming (rhythym). Using a fingerstyle guitar for rhythym playing can scratch up the surface below the sound hole--affecting the guitar's value. The best of both worlds is to apply a clear glossy pickguard that basically blends in with the gloss finish of the guitar. I have had the best success with buying a brand name like ProLine. Others I've purchased were "no-name" that came in generic packaging. After trying to economize by buying the cheapest ones I could find on auction web sites, etc, I've discovered that the adhesive is a major element of the quality. Some of the no-name clear pickguards do not adhere well. It seems also that at the outer edge, the adherence is the worst--which is actually where you need it to be the strongest. ProLine pickguards adhesive is not degraded at the edge, and adheres thoroughly, and don't seem to come up at the edges after I've applied them, nor do they get "air lines" over time (lines that show adhesion lift that follows the pattern of the spruce grain). My one negative comment is that I've purchased a lot of pickguard covers and have received, on occasion, one that was matte finish, when I in facted needed gloss. It would be desirable for Musician's Friend to specify that their ProLine pickguards are gloss or matte. I bought (from another source) pickguards under a designated part number that arrived and were matte finish (I needed gloss). Next time I bought two from the same source because I had two satin finish guitars, and the pick guards arrived and were gloss finish...same part number! I currently have a guitar I need a matte finish pickguard cover for, but am not sure how to go about buying one on line because NO SELLER specifies the finish (you're not the only guilty party, MF). So my suggestion to MF is to specify it in your product description. Other than that I am extremely pleased with the quality of product in general that is stocked by MF.

Great value. See Features above, but also read on. The value is great because of the reasons I stated in "Features", because although I have found ProLine pick guards to be superior in terms of quality, they sell for the same price as cheaper imported "no-name" imitations.

Comments about ProLine Clear Acoustic Pickguard:

Very satisfied with clear pick guard. Just keep in mind that it is clear and be sure guitar top is clean. Try spritzing a fine mist of water, this will help with the guard going on bubble free, just let it dry for a few hours before playing. Looks great and it should last a very long time.

This pick guard is a functional item that works well on different instruments. It can be trimmed where needed & sticks on easily. It holds in place well, but can be removed without harming the finish.

I have played guitar for 25+ years and play for a living. I looked at some of the other reviews before writing this. First of all, there is adheasive on this pickguard - There are two sides that must be peeled off. Just pull the side off that you stick to the guitar without touching the sticky stuff and line it up and slowly put it on starting with the wide part. There will be some bubbles but you can carefully rub them out. (I wrote this because someone said they needed directions) If you are putting this on a really nice guitar and are nervous about it just take it to a pro. They would most likely do it for free and enjoy meeting a potential new customer. I have a heavy picking hand so this pick gaurd is a must. My cedar top looks great!

One of my guitars has a cedar top and no pick guard, and it's been played with a pick, so pick wear is starting to show. I ordered this, when I got it, it looked like it had already been used. It is NOT sticky, it's a vinyl application, just like the taylor one. After applying, it has tons of bubbles that won't come out, because of the satin finish I think, as well as the mild scarring from the picks. It works like a screen protector on your phone, just not as good. The material looks and feels like the material of a zip lock bag. Just a terrible product overall.

not to thick not to thin. has adheisive on one side to make a perminate bond CAUTION so use painters tape to set the boundrys of your placement ahead of pealing the paper off the sticky side. will not come off easly.
as with most MF purchases could not find locally and would have cost 4xs as much in the local boutique.
