Comments about JJ Electronics 12AU7 / ECC82 Preamp Vacuum Tube:

I have two Takamine guitars which use the Cool Tube pre-amp. I have a Takamine EF-360SC which I put the cool tube pre-amp in myself and a Takamine TAN-16C which already had one. The TAN-16C guitar was a lot louder than the EF360SC for some reason. Thinking it might be the tubes I replaced both pre-amps with new JJ 12AU7's and behold that was the problem. The TAN16C had an Electro-Harmonix 12AU7 tube in it that evidently is a lot hotter than the JJ's. It wasn't a bad sounding tube but I'd rather have the smoother fidelity of the JJ. I use JJ's exclusively in my Classic 30 and Delta Blues 1-15" along with an ancient Peavey Classic 50 which uses two 6L6's that I have loaded with two Celestion Vintage 30's. So, once again I am going exclusively with the JJ's for all my tube needs.

As a side note to Takamine players....It is a whole lot easier to completely remove the Cool Tube pre-amp to change out the 12AU7's, they are really tight fitting in the tube socket.

Comments about JJ Electronics 12AU7 / ECC82 Preamp Vacuum Tube:

I replaced the preamp tubes in a Peavey Windsor with these, and it gave it more head room before distortion. It made the amp more responsive and functional for me.

Comments about JJ Electronics 12AU7 / ECC82 Preamp Vacuum Tube:

Bought this tube for my BK Butler Tube Driver. Gilmourish site recommended the tube as the standard 12AX7 tube was too strong. This is a warm tube and works great!

Let it break in for a few weeks and it will reward you with warm, rich tones.

I'd recommend this to anyone and JJ Electronics is the best out there. Enjoy!

          Decent smooth response

Comments about JJ Electronics 12AU7 / ECC82 Preamp Vacuum Tube:

I purchased this tube to swap out the stock tube that was in a Behringer VT999 tube guitar preamp. The stock tube was pretty good but I couldn't get rid of the grit. This JJ tube cleaned it up nice while giving me plenty of bite when I want it.
