The A7, ADAM's best-selling and award-winning powered monitor, combines a high-frequency, transient-friendly A.R.T. ribbon tweeter with an innovative, state-of-the-art 6.5" woofer. The result in an extremely accurate monitor with all the clarity, detail and spectacular imaging traditionally associated with the ADAM name — but at a price that makes it accessible to nearly all home and project studios.
The A7 is powered by two 50W RMS amps (one per driver). The front panel sports both a power switch and volume control. The rear panel houses controls for tweeter level and two shelving filters for high and low frequencies. The unit also features both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) input connectors, allowing it to be used in almost any audio application.
Accelerated Ribbon Technology
The A.R.T. (Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeters and midrange units take a completely new approach in kinematics to move air and improve the quality of music reproduction. Based on the original works of Dr. Oskar Heil, who invented his "Air Motion Transformer" back in 1972, new electroacoustic transducers have been developed that are based on improved layouts and new materials. The membrane consists of a lamella-like folded diaphragm whose single folds move according to the alternate current, thus squeezing air in and out. All other loudspeaker drive units, whether they are voice coil driven, electrostatics, piezos or magnetostatics, act like a piston, moving air in a 1:1 ratio. This is undesirable, as the specific weight of air is much lower than that of the driving mechanics. Speaking in terms of electrical engineering one could say there is a bad match between source and load. The A.R.T. principle achieves a 4:1 velocity transformation between driving diaphragm and driven air, i. e. the air moves in and out four times faster than the folds itself are moving. This superior "motor" is responsible for the enormous clarity and transient reproduction that is to be heard from the A.R.T. drive units.
A.R.T. tweeters are superior in musical clarity and transient reproduction. They have an above average efficiency of ~93 dB/W/m, a perfectly linear impedance of 3.2 ± 0.05 Ohms, an equally perfect phase response of ± 1° within the used bandwidth, a reasonable directivity characteristic and thermal power handling that exceeds that of 1" domes by a factor of 2 to 3. Summed up, here is a completely new transducer that has no weaknesses in terms of operation, compatibility, reliability or other electroacoustic specifications. Looking back into loudspeaker history you will not find anything comparable.

I LOVE these monitors. I heard new things in songs I have been listening to for years. Underlying tones and background instruments (like percussion) that were lost in previous speakers! I have had them for about 6 months now and i don't know how I went without. They are true sounding and like othrers have said, no ear fatigue. just so enjoyable to listen to for hours on end!

I have tested/tried just about every monitor that I could find. I have been dealing with production facilities since 1987 and heard them all. I started reading about these back in 2007 and always knew I would eventually get a pair. Well, got a demo set and all I can say is.............incredible. MY friends (who are production geeks as well) have said the same thing. none like them... I would love to try their more expensive counterparts, but am unsure how you could improve on these. They are great looking, great sounding and solidly built.

I have had a pair of these for 8 months. I am back this week because a woofer blew. Well this stuff happens. My solution: buy a spare because I can't afford to wait for repairs now or in the future.The monitors I had before were OK, I was not dissatisfied. After I changed to the Adams it was like my windshield had been encrusted with salt and mud and someone went at then with a squeegee and windex. My mixes have improved 200% and listening fatigue is only a memory.A revolutionary product. Buy them (or another Adam product) now and be blown away.

These speakers are absolutely everything I expected them to be. I first saw these in the 2007 AES convention in NYC, and I was really excited to purchase these as upgrades for my project studio. I upgraded from a pair of Fostex pmo.5 (also fantastic for their price), which I now use for mastering, and I am blown away still with how crystal clear these speakers are, even without acoustically tuning my control room.Listening to other mixes of bands I like on these shows every imperfection of the mix effortlessly. I recommend a pair of these for every studio, regardless of size, if you're looking for clean and honestly great sounding mixes. Even the larger mixing rooms of the studios where I went to school, with much more expensive monitoring systems, prove to me that Adam's A7s have an incredible clarity.I do not recommend these speakers for mastering, however, unless you really know what you are doing, because you will get caught in an infinite loop of "trying to find the right sound" because they really are that good.

Well,i'll get straight to the point.These monitors are fantastic,i have used all the others with good results but these speakers are extremely accurate making for confident mixes,you will hear the low end clearly,the highs are beautiful and your music,whatever style,will mix up very well on these i guarantee.
