OVERVIEW

Exceptional ADAM speaker sound and technology, in an affordable 5" woofer size.

ADAM Audio monitors are found in top recording and post production studios all over the world, and now take their extensive knowledge of studio speaker technology and have created a more affordable entry line of monitors. The F5 is the smallest of the near field monitors in the F-series and has been designed for listening environments with somewhat limited space.

Tweeter
The F models feature a newly designed version of ADAM' highly acclaimed ART tweeter. Slightly smaller than the X-ART tweeter, it is the next step in this continuous evolution in tweeter design.

Midwoofer
As the name suggests, the F5 sports a 5 woofer made from carbon and paper and a 25mm voice coil. Despite the size of both the woofer as well as the cabinet, the F5 is capable of an astounding deep yet tight bass response.

Controls
Several controls to adjust the monitors to the environment are located on the rear panel: two room EQ' for both the high (>5kHz) and the low (<300Hz) frequencies as well as a volume knob (-ˆž to +6dB).

Comments about Adam Audio F5 5" Powered Studio Monitor:

Heard this pair of heaven at NAMM. Am buying immediately. GREAT price and very very little difference to the Adam A5X (mostly in the lows, but I will personally be compensating with a sub). Adam has an unbeatable tweeter design that allows you to hear even the finest detail in your vibrato, tremolo, reverb tails etc. When paired with an ultra flat monitor set like Mackie or Yamaha, your potential for a great mix is just as good as the pros. Also, manufacturer supplied 2 year warranty, no extra charge.

Comments about Adam Audio F5 5" Powered Studio Monitor:

When I first plugged them in, turned them on, tried to make sound come out of them, nothing happened. Took me a while to figure out that A. I'm an idiot. B. Their power saving feature means that sometimes you have to crank the monitor volume more than you would think to kick them on. My bad. Over all they sound awesome. For really low bass response (if any of you know the MMW song Retirement Song, or later Beastie Boys...you know what I'm sayin) you could use more. But it's a 5 inch woofer so whatever. They could get a little louder without distortion for my taste, but I like loud things. For a small, up and coming project studio, or really anyone who wants super detailed sound, from what I've listened to, I don't know how you could do any better.

Comments about Adam Audio F5 5" Powered Studio Monitor:

I auditioned many smaller near field monitors and the ADAM F5's were, by far, the best sounding in this price range and even up to twice that price range (excluding the ADAM F7's). The rep at my local GC allowed me to use my own music, stuff I was very familiar with, to do A/B comparisons to Presonus Eris, Yamaha HS50's & HS80's KRK Rokit 6's & 8's and the ADAM F5's and F7's were (to my ears) more accurate and smoother across the full spectrum. I had a pair of Behringer Truth B2031A monitors that have just been retired... The ADAM F5's were right for my set up due to their size and don't let size fool you - these speakers go down to 52 Hz with a 5" woofer! The Behringer B2031A's with an 8" go to 50 Hz! The highs in the ADAM's are smooth and natural sounding. The ribbon tweeters are hand folded in Germany - even for the F5 and F7 monitors! If you thought ADAM's were beyond your reach, give the F5's a try, you won't look back!

Comments about Adam Audio F5 5" Powered Studio Monitor:

        ADAM F5 SPEAKERS:
I read all the rave reviews, so I had high expectations. Even so, they exceeded my expectations!
The reasons I love these speakers:
        1. They sound very natural and balanced between bass, mid, treble.
        2. They remain balanced at low medium and high volumes... no need to have bass/treble controls accessible from the front. I have them set at neutral- they have enough bass at low volume and not too much bass when cranking it up!
        3. Crystal clear- they put you in the middle of the music. very expensive/expansive sound. The antithesis of muddled.
        4. Tweeters seem to open up the sound and add to the clarity... without being harsh. Very easy to listen to all day long.
        5. The only speaker I've heard that has both a clear open sound, without loosing an overall warmth.
        6. I put these speakers through the paces at all volumes with: Vivaldi, Mozart, Enya, U2, Alpha Blondie, Thievery Corporation, Dave Mathews, Mark Knopfler, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, and Deva Premal. Everything sounds epic!

        Concerns I had:
        1. the "sleep" feature that takes a second to turn back on after sensing input.
They activate quickly enough so that this has not been a problem.
        2. was I spending too much money?
Within 5 minutes of listening to a wide range of music, I realized they were a bargain. The best audio investment I've made!
