AKG

A classic redone with state-of-the-art components with 9 selectable pickup patterns, lock mode, and more.

The AKG C 414 XL II condenser microphone is the successor to the famous AKG C 414 B-TL II mic. The AKG C 414 XL II mic shows the unique sonic signature of the highly sought after AKG C 12 which enables lead vocals and solo instruments to be placed even in a dense mix. The unrivaled up-front sound is also well-known for distant miking applications like classic music recording or drum ambience miking.

The XL II mic version differs from the XLS version in one major respect—the capsule. Both the slight presence boost and the impressive spatial reproduction is similar to the legendary AKG C 12 microphones.

The AKG C 414 XL II offers 9 pickup patterns for you to choose the perfect setting for every application. For live-sound applications and permanent installations, all controls can be disabled easily enabling trouble-free use. A Peak-Hold LED displays even shortest overload peaks.

AKG ships the C 414 XL II microphone complete with carrying case, pop filter, windscreen, and a spider-type shock mount.

For over 60 years, leading musicians and engineers have used legendary AKG microphones to capture their sound so their audience hears every nuance. The C 414 family has been one of the world's most widely-used and respected studio and stage microphones in audio history. AKG has continually set new benchmarks for useful features, improved technical specifications, and ease of use to answer requests from ever-demanding recording studios, broadcast stations, and audio engineers.

This microphone is truly incredible. I've been working with it now for     about a year and it never failed to upset everyone in the studio. It has     awesome accuracy and great frequency response. We used it on almost     every application in the studio...vocals, drums, guitar cabs, omni room     mic, etc...never failed to add a clear track. Plus, with the digital     switches for selecting different polar patterns, low cut, and     attenuation pad, you can adjust the mic to your exact needs before even     touching your console to adjust the tone. We recorded the same sessions     with different mics and even some that cost $3000+ didn't sound as good.     This is a great microphone that can do anything you need and is WELL     worth the mone

Selectable polar patterns, low cut, and attenuation make it incredibly easy to get any sound you want from any source

Extremely well made. Solid built quality, heavy. Transient response and frequency accuracy is amazing

A lot of mics 3 or 4 times more expensive don't sound this good. Such a great value for what you get

Great mics. Solid workmanship. I own a C414B XLII and it has been a great micrphone. Definitely the classic recording sound where your vocals stand out in the mix. I also have a C214 mich which i enjoy alot but these microphones are completely different beasts with different capsules. If your looking for a microphone to make your vox stand out in the mix - enjoy the C414 XLII - you won't be sorry.
