OVERVIEW

Accurate sound and comfort for long listening/studio sessions.

AKG K141 MKII semi-open headphones give you great sound and comfort, and they're ideal for studio monitoring. These headphones feature both leatherette and velvet earpads. The gimbal suspended earcups and self-adjusting headband make AKG K141 headphones comfortable to wear.

AKG K141 MKII Headphones offer you higher sensitivity, wide dynamic range and higher SPL thanks to XXL transducers with Varimotion technology. The transducers' lower impedance allows K141 headphones to be used with computers and other devices with low power output.

The AKG K141 MKII phones include a detachable 10' straight cable and a 16' coiled cable. The detachable OFC cables have gold-plated plugs for years of loss-free signal transfer. They offer a frequency range from 18Hz to 24kHz, and are designed for long-term use If you're spending a lot of time in the studio with headphones on, you'll appreciate the accurate sound and comfort you get from the K141 MKII.

A Step Down

By Mark-7zD.z

Comments about AKG K141 MKII Headphones:

The AKG K141 MKII (aka K141 Studio model) has replaced the venerable K141 Monitor model. And it is a giant tumble downhill for AKG. The new Studio model is louder, due to a decrease in impedance from 600 ohms to 55 ohms, but the new design offers up a harsh-sounding upper midrange. Compared to many other brands and models out there, it's still a good headphone, but given the dramatic price increase that came along with the model change, it's not a great value. Very disappointing.

HOME STUDIO MONITORING BLISS !

Comments about AKG K141 MKII Headphones:

As a long time hobbyist guitarist/song writer, myhumble opinion regarding the AKG K141 MKII studioheadphones may seem inconsequential to experiencedprofessionals, but I am nevertheless compelled toshare my delightful experience with this product.I record spontaneous inspiration directly into mybeloved Fostex MR8 16 bit 8 track multitrack withno peripherals whatsoever, first tracks only withno "fixings" and burn the original raw compositionto PC CDR wav. file. thus capturing the real truthof expression, purity of emotion. I use the K141'swhen recording and when playing back and the truthis always there, the phones do not lie, frequencyresponce is fantastic, they are super comfortableand perform way beyond the most rigid requirementsof major label studios. They give alot of bang forthe buck. I could not be more pleased or satisfiedwith the quality this beautiful product delivers.

Comments about AKG K141 MKII Headphones:

I originally purchased Sennheiser and they were just awful both in comfort and sound. This AkG headset has only one issue and that being with the coiled cord connection. It is very cheaply made and fits very loosely in ear piece. But they are extremely comfortable if you have them on for long periods and are worth the price you pay for more then you are getting. keep a pair of these in your music box.

Comments about AKG K141 MKII Headphones:

I've had these cans for the past 6 years or so and if they ever bite the dust I will certainly buy a replacement set. I use them at home for recording, mixing, and just listening to music. The semi-open design means that the while there is some sound leakage at high volumes, they are excellent for mixing and still workable while recording. The bass range is rich but without the heavy exaggeration you find in many popular brands.

As I said, I've been using my AKGs heavily for years, and am definitely not as gentle on them as I should be. Some of the external plastic bits have broken through wear and tear, but nothing that wasn't easily fixable and the sound is still as good as it ever was. I've never had any problems with the cords, which I've found are often the first thing to go with my phones, but they're detachable from the body anyway so they would be easy to replace.

When I first got them I wasn't really used to over-ear phones, and I found them slightly uncomfortable to wear for long sessions, but now that I'm more accustomed I could wear them all day no problem.

They aren't cheap but they sound freaking sweet and they're built to last. Not really practical to wear while you're out and about, and I wouldn't exactly call them stylish, but for all your hi-fi needs around the house they're out of this world. I would recommend these in a second to anyone looking for a pair of high quality cans.

Comments about AKG K141 MKII Headphones:

Extraordinary sense of depth. Really allows the listener to distinguish woody acoustic tones from electric sounds. Valuable when identifying defects in recording. More comfortable that comparable Sennheiser headphones.
