First, like every other review here so far, I got these with a "stupid deal", for [$]. That said, I definitely got my money's worth. The "Pros" choices above give you "good bass", "good value", but "great sound". The sound is good, probably not great. If I were looking for "great sound" I would expect to pay a couple of hundred,at least. Are these a good "value"? Yes, at [$], for me, No at [$] (their regular price). I gave them a four, and that't totally from my perspective (paying [$]). If I had paid [$] for them it would be no higher than a three. I had one other issue, the product description says "For additional versatility the K 422's come with two different lengths", I still haven't figured out what they meant by that. The come with only one cord (lengths?), and that's too short.

I run an audio production company and commercial recording studio. My studio is for making commercials not recording bands. I needed extra headphones when other voices are recording with me and when I saw these as "Stupid Deal Of The Day" it looked like an excellent deal. It is! They sound really good but ... they certainlly don't work as phones for recording because so much of the sound bleeds into the mic. They are not as "closed ear" as they look. Other than that, I have no compaints.

Compared side by side with K450 & Q460 and same...
Used FLAC, Amerie, Sansa Clip Zip with equalizer in custom (two lowest bands flat (0) and 3 other bands to the highest settings).
The Q460/K450 has a more closed ear so it protected a bit more from the outside. The Q460/K450 were also more efficient (I had to raise volume two bars on the Clip Zip to get the same volume as in the Q460/K450). Not an issue but probably means that you will deplete the battery on your player a little sooner when using your K422's.
Comfort is really nice. The cloth ear covers are a nice advantage (less perspiration for your ears) as compared to the Q460/K450 which have fake leather.
Overall for price/frequency response (high/lows/mids) and compared to their almost identical but expensive brothers Q460/K450, these are keepers!

Read a lot of good reviews for these, and at this great price decided to give them a try. I'm not disappointed at all; they have a very nice open sound, comparable to my Sony MDR-v6s, but they're much more compact. The knit covering is much kinder to my ears than the vinyl you find on similar models. Not crazy about the cord, but it's adequate.

I bought these for twenty dollars as the stupid deal of the day, and was very pleased with the value for the first three weeks until the cord came loose at the jack. Now the sound cuts out if i don't hold them at the right angle.Hoping these have a warrenty.
In summary, save yourself time and money, buy sennheisers instead.

I mostly listen to MP3s and for this purpose the K422s are excellent. I find these comfortable, but I could see someone with a larger cranium having some comfort issues. With the Stupid Deal these were one of the best values in headphones I have ever purchased.

I was trying to replace a pair of JBL headphones that were very similar to these. The JBL's had fantastic sound with deep rich bass which is the key factor I was looking for. These headphones are ok, but they are lacking the bass response I had in my JBL's which left me a little disappointed. These will do for now, and I really can't complain for the price.

I bought these for a cross country train trip. The in ear headphones that I have hurt my ears so I thought I would try these out. They fold up nice and compact and they sound great. I also like the fact that the ear pads are fabric and not leather or vinyl, so my ears don't get too hot. As a bonus my ipod classic fits in the included carrying bag. The only con I found is the cord is not as long as the cord on my in-ear headphones but I could still put my ipod in my pants pocket and wear these.
