I love these phones. I have many sets of phones, all good quality. Why do I have so many? Because I was looking for some phones that I could wear for more than a couple songs before it felt like my head was being crushed. I am a musician, and I practice many hours per day, so I need something I can wear for that time in comfort. These are the lightest phones I have ever used (of professional quality, that is), and really suit my needs. They are also "circumaural", meaning they go around your ears, instead of sitting on them. This is important if you don't like the feeling of having your ears crushed, or that the phones are somehow too small for you. I play bass, and run my bass through my system so I can play with the MP3's or CD's, and I need phones that reproduce the sound and don't distort, and these sound great. You need to give these a try, and you will never go back to your old cans.
You can look at the specs, but these feature 40mm drivers and a frequency range that goes down to 18Hz, so they can reproduce the important (to me, a bass player) low frequencies. They do not do this at the expense of the highs, however, and do not sound "boomy" or like the low frequencies have been artificially boosted. They are just well-balanced and lifelike. The main feature I like is their light weight. See more on this below, but that puts them head and shoulders above anything else I've used. Another small thing is that the cord is straight, not coiled. For some uses this may be sub-optimal, but for me it is perfect because, due to the location of my computer, the coiled cord is constantly pulling on the phones and getting in the way of my left arm, which I need to play my bass. So, the slight inconvenience of having the cord be a bit untidy is overshadowed by the relief from the irritation of a coiled cord.
I don't really know what makes a headphone durable, because I use them at home and don't have a problem with any of them. You can't make them out of cast iron to be durable and have them remain lightweight. They seem like they would hold up well, but you have to take care of them. If you sit on them repeatedly, I'm sure they will show it!
I got them for an incredible sale price, so that was a no-brainer. At their normal price, they compete with other phones that also have good sound and good construction. For me, their light weight would be their strong point. My rating reflects the normal price; for what I paid they are a 10+++

You get what you pay for with these headphones. If you are expecting to pay this price and get some top notch studio headphones, look elsewhere. These things are very comfortable to wear and have some nice build features, they seem to be holding up physically, but the sound quality is poor. I use them for an extra set of cans in my studio for things like a guitar player listening to mix playback or a metronome; they work great for that. They will NOT work for you if you want an accurate sound response for mixing tracks. Might be ok for listening to music on your mp3 player or something if you don't care about having a thin sound that lacks almost all low end.

These headphones are a decent value for the price you pay in my oppinion. These things are great spare headphones for a cheap price.
These headphones are quite comfortable. The headband is very adjustable, the ear cups are soft, and they don't weigh very much. I would have no problem wearing these for a long period of time. The single cord is a nice touch for headphones in this low price range.
These have a decent build. I have been using them for about 6 or 7 months now in my studio and they are holding up just fine. They are made completely of plastic so i don't imagine they would stand up well to a beating, but i haven't had any issues yet. The sound quality is NOT good. They are clear, but there is almost no low end at all; very thin sounding. Not good for mixing or hearing a true playback at all, but what do you expect for the price?
Decent build quality, not great sound quality, but you get what you pay for. I didn't buy these headphones and expect to be alble to mix or master tracks with them.

Comments about AKG M80 MkII Semi-Open Studio Headphone:

I bought these to use to track guitar & vocals on my Line 6 Pod HD 500x. I needed open back as opposed to the closed back AKG 271 I already have. I am very pleased with the sound; no excess coloration and very transparent. Now I use them to listen to Ipod & Youtube as well. I bought another pair for my wife to use with her Ipad. These are very comfortable and automatically adjust to your head.

I like these headphones a lot. They are lightweight and I can wear them for hours. The frequency response is even and bass frequencies are tight and under control. These headphones are a terrific value and I would buy them again.

Comments about AKG M80 MkII Semi-Open Studio Headphone:

This is the second one I have bought. These things are so smooth and sweet. More so than my old top-of-the-line AKG K345 self-energizing electrostatics (may not have been sold in U.S. -- at least I've never seen another pair). Of course, after 30 years they may be degraded; they sound shrill and have not much on the low end compared to these babies. Best investment I ever made. Highly recommended.

Got these to use with an Alesis Electronic Drum Set.
Makes some of the built-in pre-set drums sound awesome… like you're playing through a big PA system in an auditorium!
I can hammer away any time of day or night at any volume I want, and nobody can hear except me …which is a double-good thing too as I'm a sucky drummer :)
Really nice combination of high response and low response for the cymbals and bass drums
Also, Got these on sale, at a great price, so it made for an even better Deal!
              Two Thumbs Up!

Got these for my mom to use when she's practicing on her electric piano. Will probably work fine for that purpose - light usage, little handling. They have a cheap feel and the materials used don't seem very durable. If you're going for a studio set-up, I'd get a different pair, something that will last longer. But if you're on a budget and just getting started, these will get the job done. I only tried them out on the piano and they actually sounded fine there; cannot tell you how they sound with any other format.

My friend bought this(AKG m80 MKII) Headphones from US (this site) for me.
I was searching for deal on AKG headphones for long time.

I had shortlisted AKG K77 first considering reviews and budget. But I gambled on this due to discount offered here.

Luckily I found this winning gamble ;) ..

I liked M80 MKII for below reasons
                          - Bass has perfect punch as I was expecting
                          - Excellent reproduction of string instruments.
                          - Fits on ears perfectly.
                          - Great build quality for this price.
                          - Looks good

Only one negative point I found is that it sweats after long hours of listing.

Overall this is power performer for this price.
