Incredibly versatile features and big-time studio sound at a nice price!
All of AKG's knowledge about large condenser mics is distilled in the Perception 400. The Perception 400 has all the features you need for great studio sound: two large-diaphragm condenser capsules; omni, cardioid, and figure-8 selectable pickup patterns; a switchable -10dB pad; and a switchable 300Hz, 12dB-per-octave bass roll-off filter to minimize proximity effect and overwhelming low end. The broad 20Hz”20kHz frequency response has a carefully-crafted, gentle rise starting at 5kHz peaking at +4 dB at 10kHz to bring the sound forward in the mix and give vocals and acoustic instruments presence. The Perception 400 has a die-cast brass housing; dent-resistant, stainless-steel grille; a gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector; and comes with a shockmount and locking metal road case. Backed by a two-year parts and labor warranty from AKG.

this mic is awesome, ive had it for about 3 weeks or so now and its just been an amazing mic, ive mostly just used it on really loud distorted guitar cabs, but it sounds way sweet, not too harsh on the high end and with the help of the bass roll off switch, it doesnt mud up anything on the lows, funny thing is that i actually met the guy from akg that helped design a major portion of this mic, he helped design all of the nice features such as the polar pattern switch, the bass roll off that i mentiond earlier and even including that he got to choose the color, ** very excellent blue, love the color ** says it was inspierd by his trip to L.A./the ocean, this mic is hefty and obviously very well put togeather, its akg!! comes with free shockmount and roadcase, good stuff, akg makes great mics, and whats best about this one is the price!!!
