C 4000 B Stage & Studio Condenser Microphone
The AKG C 4000 B Stage & Studio Condenser Microphone is the only electret dual large-diaphragm transducer mic in the world, and a versatile, cost-efficient tool for high-quality recording. Based on the famous Solid Tube with a similar sound, the AKG C4000 B Mic uses a transistorized impedance converter/pre-amp instead of a tube circuit. Its transformerless output stage ensures exceptionally accurate low-frequency response. The AKG C 4000 B is affordably priced to make it attractive mainly for small home and project studios. Its design provides 3 different polar patterns (omni, cardioid, and hypercardioid) selectable on the mic, making it suitable for many applications, even live sound. Features pre-attenuation pad switching and a bass-cut filter for suppressing low-frequency noise.
C 1000 S Condenser Microphone
The AKG C 1000 S Condenser Mic is an excellent vocal mic. It works well even from a distance, making it ideal for recording choirs and other live music ensembles. Outstanding performance when used for instruments and ideal for home recording applications.
A special converter (PPC 1000) turns the microphone characteristics from cardioid to hypercardioid if it is mounted on the mic top. The new PB 1000 Presence Boost adapter provides an additional 5dB high-frequency peak in the cardioid mode, adding brilliance in the 5 to 9kHz range. Operates on either phantom power or standard 9V battery, and an LED has been added for low-battery warning. The C 1000 S can also be used for a variety of studio applications.

Previously I purchased a wonderful AKG C 3000 B Condenser Mic and was willing to step up in perfomance and quality. AKG C 4000 B is a fantastic mic for the price. I have been able to record my upright bass with it and get a better sound than I got in a professional recording studio! The 1000 is an excellent mic as well. You just cannot beat this deal!
This microphone package from AKG is over the top. I stumbled across this deal by accident and quickly placed my order. I had to wait about a month, but it was well worth it. The C4000B is very versatile as far as the polar patterns go, its great for setting it to omni and tucking it in corners to pick up the low end for drums. The C1000S is a great electret condenser that is good for anything really. A great asset to any mic locker!
I am very pleased with the quality of the AKG C 4000 B and of the C 1000. I have recorded with these mics twice and have used them in live performances. Excellent sound and good versatility. This combo pack is well worth the cost.
I've had this mic for several years now in a pro studio and have used it on several cd albums, along with a Apex and a newman u87. On some recordings it actually beats out the neuman, the Apex is just OK that's about all I can say except I use it as a last resort.
