OVERVIEW

Super affordable, super-sounding PA system.

MultiMix 8 USB FX/Harbinger APS12 PA package includes the 4 mono/stereo channel Alesis MultiMix 8 USB FX mixer; a pair of Harbinger APS12 12", 150W powered PA speakers; 2 Audio-Technica M4000S Handheld Mics; 2 Gear One 20' XLR cables, 2 Live Wire 20' Balanced TRS (1/4") cables, and 2 Musician's Gear All-Steel Tripod Speaker Stands.

Alesis MultiMix 8 USB FX
The MutliMix 8 USB FX compact mixer comes with built-in effects and doubles as a computer recording interface so you can mix, record, or do both at the same time. Whether you are mixing a band or sub-mixing a group of inputs, such as a drumset, the MultiMix 8 USB FX is easy to use, rugged, and packed with features. Offering microphone inputs with phantom power, guitar-direct inputs, and line-level inputs for connecting everything else, plus a wide range of effects, the MultiMix 8 USB FX delivers clean audio to your PA or recording system with hassle-free computer connection.

This dynamic mixer features four XLR inputs with independent gain pots on channels one through four. These XLR inputs also have a switchable phantom power option to accommodate both dynamic and condenser microphones. TRS Line inputs are also available on all eight channels. New to the MultiMix 8 USB FX is a high-impedance input on channel two, which allows direct connection of a guitar or bass. This is a great convenience for singer/songwriters looking to get a clean, "hot" signal. A Tape RCA stereo input is also included adding the ability to mix in audio from other sources such as a CD or LP player.

Harbinger APS12 12" Powered Speaker
The 150W Harbinger APS12 is a 12", 2-way, powered PA speaker system with full-range response that makes it ideal for vocals and acoustic performances. The Harbinger APS12 is equipped with a 12" woofer with a 1-3/8" compression driver, 3-channel mic/line mixer, 2 mic/line input channels with individual balanced and unbalanced connections, 1 dual RCA/single XLR line input for playback devices, and much more.

Audio-Technica M4000S Handheld Mics
The Audio-Technica M4000S Handheld dynamic microphones have professional features with a ridiculously affordable price tag. Their frequency response is tailored for crystal-clear vocal reproduction. Great feedback rejection and focused pick up are due to the unidirectional polar pattern. It also features a handy on/off switch for ease of use.

Professional features include a balanced XLR output and a rugged stand clamp. Whether you're on the road, in the studio, or just performing at local gigs, its all-metal design helps provide years of trouble-free use.

Not a bad deal for starting musicians.

Comments about Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX/Harbinger APS12 PA Package:

If your like me, and playing music is a side job, this is a good start in getting louder. The mixer is a decent start, the speakers put out a nice overall tone, you may want to upgrade on the mics, and an added bonus, hooking up the computer you can blast your radio, cd's, and even record. We have two mics, guitar, keyboards hooked up to the system. I wish it came standerd to be able to hook up two guitars, but I will figure out something to make it work.
I picked this package up over a month ago, and for the price, I think it is a pretty good deal. Everything hooks up easily, the speakers blast a pretty good tone. Plenty to mess around with on the mixer (which we are still doing) to find 'our right tone'. It took a little thinking to get the computer hooked up right, but that adds another tool to use with this system. I havent dont any more then play around with recording anything beyond setting the keyboard up so we can play the rest of the instraments along with it. I think this may overwhelm some noobies if they dont know what everything is/does, but if you want live sound beyond your practice amp, this is a good start.
So far they havent left the home studio, but every thing feels solid. The speakers have the weight you would expect and the stands support them well. We have a couple weddings coming up, so I will get back on the rugged handling part. The mics are ok, but I want something a little better that doesnt change my voice tone as bad - singing directly into the mic or from the side.... The mixer is pretty solid given its light weight. The speakers rock a solid tone with everything running half on the dials (still in garage band mode so I havent cranked it up loader yet.... I have neighbors.....)
If your new to going live, want a decent acoustic set up, this is a good way to go. All the features in this package get you going asap. With plenty to toy around with, it will last you well into intermediate play. If you are also on a budget and want to rock it out a smaller venues I think this package will do that. I will let you know how it sounds after our wedding gig.

sweet deal

Comments about Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX/Harbinger APS12 PA Package:

this pa is great just got it a couple days ago. im a vocalist in a metal band and we have 2 half stacks, a 100 watt bass amp and a 8 peice drum set, this pa is loud enough to be able to hear my vocals over all of that! lots of cool features, the abilty to plug into a computer is a huge plus. the fact that the speakers are powered is good cuz i only need to bring one speaker to pratice and my mic plugs right in, and sounds almost as good with out the mixer. for the price this thing is sweet. GET IT !!!!!!!

Fantastic deal

Comments about Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX/Harbinger APS12 PA Package:

Usually when I get gear this inexpensive the knobs and dials feel cheap and wobbly, the quality on these units is excellent especially the mixer board, the speakers I'm sure could sound a little betterbut probably not for the money. Very pleased with this purchase. I'm a vocalist and I use it for practice and karaoke
