This thing has some great sounds. If your not into a lot of tweaking, this has several satisfying settings that are great for adding just the right flavor to an instrument. I never did get a good vocal setting so I use another product for that. The unit is a little noisy for recording, though I wouldn't rule it completely out if you have a good way to clean track dead spaces. I own 2 of these - one is in my Acoustic rig and the other in one of my electric rigs (Guitars). The size makes them really easy to squeeze into your gear. The size, stereo capability, and price alone - if your considering one, there is little to lose and lots to gain.

I recently purchased this unit for live applications in small venues. I was in a pinch and needed some multi-effects asap and cheap. I own other Alesis gear, which is decent, but this unit was noisy and "clipped" even at low gain levels. This might work for quiet acoustic gigs. Although this was not for me, it is super easy to hook up and use. I am returning it, and stepping up to a Lexicon.

I got one to use as a dedicated reverb for some older synths with no effects. I have an old Microverb 2 and expected great things. Although 15 years newer, somehow this reverb does not sound as good as the Microverb or any other brands. But it is useable. It has a hard to describe "swirly" sound - like a bad loop - if the adjust knob is at 12:00 or more. Sounds best at 11:00 or lower. The addition of chorus, flanger and delay make it more versitle. The small size and easy operation are great. Get this as an "extra" reverb on the side for a little ambience and it will work fine. Don't use it as a main reverb for critical tasks.

Its all around good sound and simple to use. True story: mine was submerged in water for at least several months it was rusted and filthy. I dried it out and cleaned the circuit board and put tuner cleaner in the pots and the damn thing works!!! You cannot beat that durability!
Every board needs an effects box. For the $ this is great. I used it to aux send my vocalists and then returned the reverb it to my board as a channel and that worked great. Lots of diferent effects that are infanatly adjustable. Only 2 complaints. This unit does not have a high threshold so you Cant run the snare too hot through it, and also Id like to be able to the two channels are not seperately adjustable on this unit. Outside of that, a GREAT little box. and with the size you can get 3 of them in a single rack space!!
For the money, this is a great little unit for someone that needs inexpensive reverb. the Chorus/Delay's are ok, but nothing to really brag about. The unit is very compact and takes up no space at all in your rack. If you are looking for a quick hookup and great verb and want to spend only a little, this is the unit.
I absolutely adore my NanoVerb. I can dial in very subtle reverb sounds to insane over-the top washed out reverb. When used with my guitar, I'll sometimes crank the 'input' knob and let it distort naturally. When used with my keyboard, I'll add just a touch of the 'hall' setting to give my sound a slightly more organic tone. The only thing I would change about it would be to have a second 'adjust' knob--one to control the 'size' of the room, hall, etc, and have another knob control the decay. For the chorus and flange, use the two knobs for the rate and the depth. Other than that, this is a GREAT device!
I've been using my nanoverb for almost a decade-it gives me great, spacious reverbs without any hassles. The presets are great, adjustment parameters ample, and it fits in my gigbag. For Streetperformance I had a special belt made for it, and I keep it at my waist, where its easily accesible, even when I'm roaming. As convenient as any footpedal, but the rack quality effects really cut it! I have one for my voice, a second for my guitar, and I can't think of a better choice for either.
I have never been a big fan of Alesis products. The Nanoverb I have was in the effects loop of my board. It caused major distortion problems and major delays in my performance. This is not professional equipment! When it worked it sounded okay but it isn't worth the problems.
I've been using the Nanoverb for several years through the effects loop on my classic Peavey PA. I originally bought the unit cause of the low cost. The thing just keeps on workin'. It has a pretty decent vocal reverb, and it works good for guitar too. I don't think I would by it for digital delay or flange or those effects. If you want a low price reverb, this is a good option. All the knobs are bent from gigs and travel but it keeps on workin'.
I have played the native american flute for many years and have noticed other accomplished musicians using similar devices. I decided that in order to improve the quality of my sound I needed one also. A short time ago I purchased the Alesis Nanoverb and have been very pleased with it ever since.
