Incredible mixer with one HUGE drawback !!

Comments about Allen & Heath Xone:22:

Full review above.
The Good:

Price, incredible value for $.

Amazing build quality, its a mini-tank.

Incredible sound, it's way louder and more precise than mixers 3x it's price.

Total cut eq really is, unlike many other brands I've played on.

Channel faders are smooth, real smooth.

The filters.....omg !

The Bad:

There is no "thru" option on the crossfader....thats right, you CANNOT turn it off !!

This means for dj's like me who only ever use the channnel faders, you have to basically secure the thing securely in the middle position with tape or something similar.

To me you only need the x-fader if you have a fast cut mixing style, scratch and/or play hip-hop or that your mixing skills leave a little to be desired and you constantly bale, lol.

I know I have a nerve complaining about this for such an amazing piece of kit but how this 1 small thing could be overlooked is totally beyond me.....

Comments about Allen & Heath Xone:22:

Great piece of kit, nice spacious layout, simple to use (I'm yet to touch my manual) and all the essential features you need, even a sweet filter to cap it off. Beautiful sound quality (a class above the DJM400), and built like a tank. If you don't need 4 channels or cheap sounding effects, get this mixer. Best value for money on the market right now.

Comments about Allen & Heath Xone:22:

I got this mixer a few months ago now, and have been very pleased with it, especially for the price—you cant beat it. The sound Quality is great. It's compact but sturdy, with accurate, intelligible controls, and replaceable faders, all in an ergonomic layout. It has cool features such as the onboard VCF ('voltage controlled filter', with frequency sweep), and the ability to add off-board effects via the effects send and receive (theres even an onboard switch for enabling/disabling this). Another bonus is that its configured with two separate headphone outputs: one for 1/8 " and one for 1/4", which is nice for a number of reasons.

And don't be overwhelmed by all the terms either, because its very straightforward and self explanatory if you know what you're doing at all.

The one con: There is no selectable fader orientation (though the fade contour is smooth/sharp selectable). But that is to say, you cannot reverse the direction of the fade for each of the tables without manually removing and reinserting the phono/line RCAs for each table.

Comments about Allen & Heath Xone:22:

There is simply nothing in the price range of this mixer that comes close to the reliability or quality of the Xone 22. You could pay double and still not get the same quality. It is built like and tank and has performed like new for me over many gigs. The same components are used in this as the industry standard club mixers of A&H's higher level mixers like the Xone 92. OK so it dosent have every little gimicky feature - but it does what it does very well and thats what matters.

Comments about Allen & Heath Xone:22:

This mixer has awesome sound and the balanced outputs are a godsend! I can now arrive at a gig with a lightweight 10" mixer, 2 10" cd players and road case that fits in my boxster, plug in my power cord, xlrs and laptop and drop beats

Comments about Allen & Heath Xone:22:

Arrived with channel 2 broken. There is a short where the filter push knob for channel 2 is. Probably an easy fix, but on a brand new mixer that is unacceptable. reading online you can see it is a common issue. MF did a quick return, but unless you really want the long upfaders, wait a few months for the Xone 23 which should have abetter build quality.

This Little Baby Does The Job Well!!!

    By Leonard Rroy

Comments about Allen & Heath Xone:22:

This DJ Mixer has everything I need in a mixer and it does not have so many buttons that equal nothing more than bells & whistles.

The Cue feature that goes with the LED lights is a winner because, when a song is in cue, the lights will show you is the next song is at the proper volume for a balanced sound.

The headphone volume is loud enough that professional headphones are not required.

It runs off a AC Adapter and that eliminate hum if the venue has badly wired outlets.

The filtering feature is great because it has two setting, Mild & Wild and can be used independently per channel with a simple push of a button.

The only thing I don't like is - the Low EQ knob does not have enough boost / cut. With the use of the filter, I can work around that with the push of a button - which makes that a non factor at the end of the day.

The reason I bought it? It was small, simple, and fit in my case. Did I know I was going to get THIS MUCH for what I spent on it, NO!!!

Thus far, it's the best DJ Mixer I ever used / owned in 35 years.
