Comments about Alto 600 Watt Portable Powered PA System:

The PA was larger than I expected but it sounds good and will be portable enough. The only criticism I have is not with the PA, but with the shipping. Ordered the PA early in the morning on Wednesday May 29, 2013 and the sales representative said it would go out that day. I received an email which stated the PA had shipped however no tracking number was included with the communiqué. Called Musicians Friend on Friday May 31, 2013 and found out the PA was still in the warehouse. The PA was shipped via ABF freight on Saturday June 1, 2013. I called ABF on Friday June 7, 2913 and found out they had an incorrect phone number for me and had tried and failed to contact me to schedule delivery. At that point I opted to pick up the PA myself rather than wait through the weekend for delivery. I eventually picked up the PA at the ABF freight center in Chesapeake, VA about 25 miles from my home on Friday June 7, 2013. If I hadn't checked with ABF the PA probably would have gone back to Musicians Friend and I'd still be waiting. I checked my profile at Musicians Friend and the contact info is correct. Which begs the question why did ABF have an incorrect contact phone number. Anyway all's well the ends well.

Really great sound and great buy on stupid deal of the day. Adding the service agreement since I'm unsure about long term reliability. But so far, extremely pleased

Comments about Alto 600 Watt Portable Powered PA System:

I feel like I have a garage full of sound reinforcement equipment, but until I bought the ALTO system, I did not have a powered sub-woofer. Since the ALTO system was on sale, I was able to buy the complete package (that includes a sub-woofer) for the price of a powered sub-woofer alone. When it arrived, I knew I had serious equipment --- it weighed nearly 100 pounds and required a special goods transportation service. Last night I tried it out with keyboard bass and octave-generated bass from my guitar. The lows seem very solid and the sound response seems good all across the spectrum. ALTO has created an efficient way to store the stands and cords that accompany the system --- the load in the bottom of the sub-woofer-mixer-amp enclosure. (I only discovered this after reporting to Musician's Friend that they were missing. ALTO's instructions need to mention where this stuff is.) I have not yet gigged with the system, but I looking forward to using it for venues of small and medium size. It seems to be a good value even at Musician's Friend's regular price. Buying the Musician's Friend extended warranty seems smart for this system. Given the weight of the system, it would cost lots to send it back for service. In a word, I really like this system.
