Comments about Alto Mixpack Pro 1000 Watt Portable Powered PA System:

I am really happy with Alto products. Their little all-in-one PA system is especially nice, and I have used their powered PA cabinets in a few venues.
While I applaud any efforts to simplify the life of the traveling musician, I think Alto missed the mark with this unit. I got it as a Stupid Deal, where there was no info about size and weight other than 1,000 watts, 15 in. subwoofer.
My first clue was when I got a call from the trucking company saying I had to meet them at the McDonalds parking lot because the semi truck couldn't get in my driveway. I had to go there and wrestle this behemoth into the back of my sub-compact (with the driver's help), but when I got home I had to unpack in my driveway and wrestle it up the front steps. This thing weigh 175 pounds! It has two wheels on one corner, but I can't imagine they would last...
The system sounds very good. We use it in our rehearsal space and run ipods through it. Good, big, clean sound, lots of inputs, but...I am no weakling, but this thing is just too heavy for one person to manage. It has only one handle on the top, and it's hard to tip it up onto the wheels.

Comments about Alto Mixpack Pro 1000 Watt Portable Powered PA System:

this thing is big when its all together its like a half a jet ski, I dont think you'll get it in a car or trunk unless you break it down. or have a truck, its also HEAVY.. so your probably break it down to load and unload.. its not portable its kinda a hassle on wheels.. lol

on a good note its useful and still beats my 2000 watt ALTO PA and its huge refrigerator speakers, but the 2000 is louder and has better HEADROOM then this portable 1000,which is not loud enough to me. but over all this a great PA. and the price was great!
