OVERVIEW

Class D powered speaker with total transparency for clean, clear performance every time.

Part of Alto's TRUESONIC series, the TS115A is an 800W Class D powered loudspeaker with a 15" low-frequency transducer and 1" neodymium driver. It provides you with two mic/line combo inputs with independent volume controls and an XLR output for linking to other speakers. Their lightweight, trapezoidal cabinet makes it easy for you to use it as a traditional upright loudspeaker or as floor wedge monitor, and it's stand or pole-mountable as well as flyable. Other features include a Clip Limiter with red LED, Ground Lift switch, and a contour switch for increased EQ control.

Versatile Cabinet Design
All TRUESONIC 2-way speaker cabinets have been designed with versatility and longevity in mind. They feature a durable, lightweight polypropylene enclosure that is stand-mountable for weekend gigs and flyable for more permanent installations. What's more, they have a trapezoidal design which greatly decreases the resonance of the standing wave in the cabinet for a more true-and-exact sound reproduction. The TRUESONIC TS115A is ideal for musicians and DJs on the move and halls, malls, schools, houses of worship and more.

Total Transparency
The TRUESONIC Series was designed from the ground up to be the most transparent loudspeaker money can buy. Rigorous testing and thousands of hours of listening have gone into making sure that what you pump into a TRUESONIC speaker is exactly what you get out. Everything you see (and some things you don't) - from internal signal path and components used to the sculpted cabinet and meticulously designed waveguide - was developed in service of the principle of accurate, transparent sound.

Super Efficient Drivers
The drivers in the TRUESONIC TS115A are designed to make sure that virtually no energy is wasted. That translates to more of the power from the amplifier actually working to generate sound rather than heat, giving the speaker better real-world performance than other speakers with comparable published specifications. The TRUESONIC TS115A offers a 15" LF driver (2" voice coil) and a 1" HF neodymium driver.

Modern amplifier design
Every active TRUESONIC speaker benefits from the use of a Class D amplifier integrated into the cabinet. Class D amps are generally lighter than Class A and AB amplifier designs, and offer more than enough power to provide your performance with plenty of punch. The TRUESONIC TS112A delivers with 800 watts of power and offers a balanced combo jack (XLR/TRS) input with level control. Class D amplifiers are also highly efficient and run cooler than other kinds of amps so the amp doesn't have to work as hard to deliver your mix.

Hang 'em High
Optimal speaker placement can be challenging, especially if your speakers don't have what it takes to go anywhere. Whether you need to fly your speakers, polemount or use them as floor monitors, TRUESONIC speakers are ready for you. All TRUESONIC speakers feature standard 36mm pole mounting insets on the bottom. If you need to fly them, it's no problem. The TS115A comes with five rigging points. All these options make the TRUESONIC one remarkably venue-friendly speaker. You can use them anywhere you need them.

Just what you need
Whether you're performing at a coffeehouse, wedding, house of worship or other small- to medium-sized venue, the TRUESONIC TS115A is your best choice. For example, it's easy to get your TRUESONIC speakers to the gig thanks to their carrying handles and lightweight design. Once you're there you won't need to be a live sound engineer to figure out how to EQ the speakers thanks to the built-in Contour EQ switch that can help adjust for those situations where an EQ alternative is needed for recorded music playback. When you're connecting everything, the TRUESONIC's dual XLR/combo inputs make easy work of your setup and each speaker's independent level controls give you the flexibility to dial everything in your way in seconds.

Full metal grille
You can never be too safe around the stage. We know stuff happens that you just can't predict. Sometimes it's the flying drumstick, a falling mic stand or worse. Every TRUESONIC speaker comes with a complete front grille from top to bottom that protects not only your low-frequency driver, but your high-frequency driver as well. With TRUESONIC speakers, you get extra peace of mind knowing that whatever comes at your sound system, it's covered, literally.

I've had several othre musicians ask me where I got these because they want a pair, they even sound great playing tunes off my phone during breaks. These are great speakers, lightweight, inexpensive, these guys nailed it.
I love these speakers, they sound great! I was borrowing my freinds QSC's for a few shows and then I got these Alto 15's, man, I'm blown away! I like the QSC's but these actually sound better live, they're just as loud but I'm not getting any more complaints from people up front. We do this restuarant gig and the QSC's sound ok in the back of the room, but when you get up toward the front, they tend to blow your head off, they're way too directional. These Alto's are just as powerful but give me a much more even sound throughout the whole room, and cost like half as much. I saved enough to be able to get four of their powered wedge monitors to. The Alto's sound great!
They seem to be built tough for the road.
I can't believe how good these sound compared to everything else I've heard and used. Everything comes out crystal clear.

I am currently sitting on 3.5 broken units. Musicians Friend was good enough to replace two broken units (one arrived non-working) the other broke after 45 minutes of moderate volume DJ'ing in a small club (the other units coming out of the same set up were fine).

These units also have a terrible design in that you can go from a line to mic signal once you reach "12 O'clock" on the volume knob which is basically a recipe for disaster allowing the easiest possible scenario for someone to blow their speaker.

I had about 2 weeks before the other one blew and I'm currently using the 4th one as a monitor because it's acting up.

For what it's worth I also got an 18" sub that is basically shorting out.

These speakers do not hold up to even moderate, controlled, professional wear and tear. They're seriously overrating their power / capacity and having to return broken models every two weeks is a huge time sink and pain.

Would definitely not purchase these again unless I were using them for room music, a cafe setting or sound for a speaking engagement.

Comments about Alto TS115A 15" Active 2-Way Speaker:

One thing I listen for in a speaker is its transition thru the lows to the mid-bass. I was extremely impressed with how well tuned the cabinets are. There weren't any boomy range, and the transition is very smooth and unilateral.

The mids and highs are about as natural as you could imagine. Clean and clear, and need very little EQing, hence the lack of separate bass and treble controls. you simply don't need them.

For soundtracks, the Loudness Contour works very well.

This weekend will be the ultimate test against outside conditions, and will be used in live acoustic sets (Abraham Weaver, Jamie Weston, Pete Benz), and ending the day with a full southern rock band - Jon Austin Band.

    Then I'll know....

Comments about Alto TS115A 15" Active 2-Way Speaker:

I was impressed! I used these for video slideshows, with music tracks overlays. The room was a large sized meeting hall, shiny floors, but a high pitched ceiling with acoustic tile. Once the room had about 80 people, and I loaded up the videos, I walked around the room during playback and the coverage was excellent. Good, clear natural sound with no overhang at the lower freqs, and the natural progression of dropping tones lower and lower was smooth all the way down.

Looking very forward to using these in a couple of weeks at a live outdoor venue, stacked with my Peavey 18" subs.

Simply put, these are worth every bit so far.

I am using this speaker as a bass rig for a school pep band. Easy to use, plenty of power, and the fact that it is a full range speaker adds a nice high end to the bass sound. Just what I have been looking for.

Comments about Alto TS115A 15" Active 2-Way Speaker:

Lots of companies are offering a similar product: 2-way powered PA cabinet, 12 or 15 woofer, 150-300 watts. These Alto products are very good, especially considering their cost. I got mine as a "Stupid Deal," so I am very pleased at the price (MF's Free Shipping RULES!!) I paid, but that wouldn't matter if the thing didn't sound good. Fortunately these sound very good. Sad to say I only bought one, but I use it as a monitor and it's awesome! One of the regular venues I play has a pair of these in their (large coffee house) house system, and they sound great too. Nice boxes!

Comments about Alto TS115A 15" Active 2-Way Speaker:

These are great speakers. They are solidly built and not heavy at all. It has 2 side handles and a top handle so you can easily pick it up in many ways. It has 2 xlr/trs combo inputs and 1 xlr output. It also has a switch called ''contour'' which pretty much raises the high and low frequencies for some quick eq setting however I would not recommend it for loud volumes. The sound output is clear in my opinion. I have used other brand speakers and I find the the high frequencies are a little on the harsh side or the low side is too boomy but these altos sound sweet, not too high not too low. I have only used in them in a few events so i cannot comment on its durability but so far they have stood up. The speaker looks great on the aesthetic side so you cannot go qrong with using these in super formal events. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. O I almost forgot to mention that you should not go past 12 o'clock on the input knob unless you are only using a microphone directly into the speaker otherwise you might clip the amplifier. I just adjust the levels on my mixer and leave the knob on the speaker at 12 o'clock. I think that is why some people have had issues with them.

Well packed in a plain brown box. 800 watts should not be boasted on these! That's a peak! 335 watts is what is listed for the woofer and 65 for the tweeter nominal. These are restocks as they already had issues. Well after using them for one gig. I noticed the top end just drops off. As if a filter was kicked in. I sent them back and bought the EV ZLX-115P
