The DCD-PRO310 I got as my first Dual cd player because of the price. After a year the left side froze up and I had my dealer fix it. After that it's been great. Its a really good beginner set up.
Two of our local bars have purchased these and got hosed! They have disc reading problems, and the left hand drawer will NOT open(after minimal use). The display reads: "CLOSE"We have had problems with American Audio mixer crossfaders going out too. Bottom line is this, if you are gonna be a DJ, DON'T buy cheap equipment!!! You giving those of us who CARE about our work a bad name. Get Numark, Denon, or Pioneer...
I purchased this new and had to ship it back twice because the laser wouldn't read the disk. I also upgrade an purchased the DCD pro-610 and it had to be returned because of a bad laser. Someone should consider a class action suit againt American Audio for selling crap equipment!!!
I bought this deck for my third dj sytem for my DJ company in Hawaii because it had a lot of features and was really inexpensive. You get what you pay for. WE CAN'T MIX AT ALL! There is a SAVERE DELAY on the cue and play/pouse button that throws off the mix EVERYTIME!! We always have to struggle to realign the already beatmatched track with a shifty pich controll that warps the sound of the track like a sun-melted vinal record!!! BAD BUY if your siriouse about mixing!
Pros: Has all the basic features you need to start beatmatching. Good laser, no problems playing various cds/cdrs/somewhat scratched disks. Pitch bend with the jog wheel works well.Cons: After 1 show and a few months of occasional practice, some of the buttons are already wearing out. Still usable, but doesn't seem very durable. Has a loop feature, but it is not seamless. Seek time is a little slow sometimes.
I have used this disc player at my highschool, and it works great. I strongly urge you to throughly read through the manual before you try and use it. If you aren't sure about all the features, you can really get yourself into a mess trying to work it. Overall, though, it is a great system that can do all that is needed to run a suficent sound system.
Bought 2 of these units. One was defective right out of the box (wouldn't read cds on tray 1) and this site took care of it right away, with no problems. Later the other cd player had the same problem and I had to send it to American Audio. The replacement that was sent has a display that is almost impossible to read. Now, the first unit replaced is having problems on reading cds on tray 1. Not real pleased with this product and will be replacing as soon as I can and will relegate these to "backup" status.
