Great Amp for the Price

Comments about American Audio VLP-1500 Power Amplifier:

I bought this amp to get away from the old school amps I have that weigh around 90 lbs and to see if it compared to my old school Peavey PV 1.3K and PV 2000 amps. After using this amp for three DJ jobs, I sold the Peavey PV1.3K, it powered my Full Range and my Earthquake Subs just fine. I even ran it friday night for 10 hrs. and it was still cold on top and bottom as it was when I turned it on. There was not even a loss in power, I have been DJ'ing for 8 yrs and I have used all kinds of equipment. This amp is light, weighs about 42 lbs and for the price you can't beat it. I think I going to buy the VLP 2500 also. The older you get the lighter you want your equipment to be.

    Best Amp Best Value

Comments about American Audio VLP-1500 Power Amplifier:

I bought one of these amps a little while back. Have nothing but GOOD to say about this amp. I've been DJin' for fifteen years and I'm goin' to buy another- so I have one per 1000 watt folden horn sub. You CAN run this amp 1/2-3/4 for five or more hours and it would still be as cold as when you turned it on. Now that's AWESOME.-Integrit Mobile Music/Shawn-Owner

Comments about American Audio VLP-1500 Power Amplifier:

This American Audio VLP1500 is old school. Its a boat anchor but like old tech amps, it puts out pretty good bass. It a real dumb bell of an amp, the only high tech thing about it is that it has a built-in LIMITER. OK and another thing is that they managed to get a 500WPC @ 8ohms amp in a 2 rack space. I really doubt for about $300 bucks its a TRUE 500 Watts per channel amp but its sounds close to it, I'd say about 400WPC RMS. It really thumps the speakers though. It has separate transformers for each channel like old school amps did back in the day so thats why it weighs 43 lbs.Its not a QSC, Crest or Peavey but for the price its a good spare amp. Bedroom DJ's I would not buy this cuz the 2 fans make a lot of noise and it pops when you turn it off. Like I said its not sophisticated but its powerful.

Comments about American Audio VLP-1500 Power Amplifier:

I run the sound booth for the youth at my church to Jbl Pro am 4212-95, and the amp makes some really nice clean sound, i had it hook up to my two 18" "not so good" subwoofers put it was just to much for them.
