Designed for mobile DJs and smaller clubs, the DJ Spot 250 effect light delivers incredible economy by substituting a (still very bright) halogen lamp for the much pricier discharge lamps found on moving heads used by larger venues. Beaming out a brilliant 250 watts of illumination, the DJ Spot 250's halogen lamp packs enough power to light up a neighborhood club, bar, or dance floor without "blindsiding" your wallet.
The DJ Spot 250 provides sufficient brightness for the average DJ or club's needs, plus the effect light's got 360-degree moving head rotation and DMX compatibility. The American DJ Spot 250 will blast out 3D like effects to every area and corner of a room or dance floor. The DMX light's rotating yoke provides extremely fast, smooth movement, allowing for the seamless transition of its many gobo patterns and colors. The American DJ Spot 250 comes equipped with 10 gobo patterns (plus spot) for an endlessly fascinating array of images. The DMX light can produce 7 brilliant, jewel-like colors plus white. Its white images are extra clean and crisp, thanks to a white color correction filter that's included on the fixture.
The American DJ Spot 250 comes with several built in programs and is best used in multiples of 4. For best results use fog or special effects smoke to enhance the beams' projections. For added excitement, the DJ Spot 250 also features a Gobo Shake Effect. Additionally, the DMX effect light will strobe in every color, allowing users to add some eye-popping flash to their light show.
The DJ Spot 250 light features 6 DMX channels and can be operated as an intelligent effect with any standard DMX-512 controller. A bright, readable Digital Display allows for easy DMX setup. The DJ Spot 250 can also be operated in stand-alone mode as a sound-activated effect, chasing through the built-in programs, or you can daisy-chain up to 16 effects lights together to get a synchronized light show without the need of an external controller in master/slave mode.
The DJ Spot 250 does not have to be run in on-off duty cycles to prevent overheating, as many lighting effects do. It comes equipped with a high-velocity cooling fan that allows for continuous use . . . so there's no interruption to the DJ Spot 250's supercharged moving head excitement!

I bought 2 of these for Live Theater Productions, I currently use 2 Mole Richardson 407 spots and wanted to eliminate the 2 lighting operators from having to operate very hot lights (407s) for the 1 1/2 hour shows we do.The DJ Spot 250 looked on paper to fit the bill.1- The Price is Great2- Easy to set up3- Light Weight (20# each)4- Super Light Show(s)5- Low cost lamp ($10 each)6- Plus many cool features for the PriceThe Deal Breaker for me is the "Operating Noise" They Are LOUD. By Loud I mean I can hear them 75-100 feet away in a quiet Auditorium. Within 10 feet of the fixture you can't hold a conversation, Or more importantly you can't Record Sound (other than Fixture noise with Dialog) if you are in the same Room with the fixtures on.I shoot Video (3 cameras) and record audio from all 3 cameras and 16 mic channels during the Shows for DVD Production later.If you are trying to record sound with these in the room you will NOT be successful, an alternative might be ADJ 250 VIZI Spot LED. P.S. This noise can't be removed in Post without removing most Dialog and Music.The lights would be very cool at a Frat Party or in a Club/Bar type setting or anywhere you are not recording Sound. Good Luck, If Sound might be an issue, Try to "Listen" to the Fixture prior to buying, As most Mfgs. do not list the Noise level of there products.John

I have been nothing but disappointed with these lights. They were used twice for a total of less than 10 hours and both are now broken. My company uses many brands, makes, and models of intel fixtures and these are by far the most unreliable. After 1 use, the 1st one makes a LOUD clicking noise in the motor. I took it back and luckily they gave me another one. So far that new one works...The 2nd in the pair just STOPPED working. The bulb will not light up and our repair has no idea what the issue is. Guitar Center won't take it back ...who knows why. We have put it in a box and sent it back to ADJ. Who knows when it will come back.

I own 2 of these moving lights, and they are easy to navigate and use. I wish they had more features such as dimming capabilities and 3 faced prism. But for the small price they are deffinatly worth it! For DJ light shows these fit very well!
