OVERVIEW

Super compact, low-profile PAR designed ideally for uplighting and stage lighting.

The American DJ Mega Par Profile is a compact, low-profile PAR that is an ideal solution for uplighting or stage lighting applications, and will add color and excitement to any party. Both the power and DMX inputs and outputs have been intelligently placed on the side of the fixture, not the rear panel, to allow you the option of setting the Mega Par directly on the ground, or inside of the truss to add an uplighting effect.

The Mega Par Profile features smooth RGB color mixing, a 30-degree beam angle, five different operational modes, and has seven DMX Channel modes for a vast variety of programming options. You can also opt to use the American DJ LED RC wireless remote (sold separately) to control the unit.

FEATURES
  • Ultra-bright slim flat black PAR with 26 red, 46 green, and 36 blue 10mm LEDs
  • Smooth RGB color mixing with fast or slow color change operation
  • Power and DMX inputs and outputs located on the side of the unit so the PAR can be set flat on the ground or placed inside a truss
  • Great as an architectural wall wash or for performance stages where traditional stage lighting emit a lot of heat onto performers
  • 7 DMX channel modes, and five operational modes, including auto mode and sound active feature with built-in programs
  • 32 Built-in color macros, beam angle of 30-degrees, and a color strobe all combine for the ideal effect
  • A low-power draw of 18W, and a 50,000 hr. LED life capacity make the unit optimal for extended use
  • Includes dual mounting brackets to hang on truss, mount on a wall or set on the ground
  • Linkable through the 3-pin XLR and IEC AC inputs and outputs on the rear of the unit allow for daisy-chaining options
  • Compatible with American DJ LED RC wireless infrared remote control up to 30 ft./ 10M (sold separately)

The right choice to add compact, low-profile solutions to your lighting designs.

Comments about American DJ Mega Par Profile:

Full disclosure: I am an "old school" singer/DJ whose gigs consist mainly of the social/ballroom dance type. Besides some stage lighting I am mostly interested in lighting which offers some fairly subtle but interesting effects on the dance floor itself. I had for many years used the old ADJ CW(Color Wheel)-Pin Spots which while not versatile offered a very nice effect, for my purposes, especially when used in conjunction with some other lighting effects. Sadly, however, they had to be retired and I purchased a Mega Par (after reading/watching a number of reviews) to see if it would serve as an adequate replacement. After several gigs I offer this assessment: they are VERY easy to use/setup, and very versatile, but not nearly as bright as I had hoped. While in complete darkness or VERY low light situations they may show well, I find them not to be extremely effective in low to mid-light venues, perhaps only half as bright as the CW-Pin Spots were at the same places. Still, I would recommend these lights but with the caveat that they are not super bright unless used in optimal (dark) areas and at close placement to subject.

Comments about American DJ Mega Par Profile:

I'm very happy with this, especially for the price. It's the 4th LED lighting device I have and I'm happy with it. I mount it to the top bar of my set-up. Keep in mind with this one, you cannot daisy chain power, like most of the American DJ products, i was a little disappointed with that.

Comments about American DJ Mega Par Profile:

so I just order 3 of these bad boy for a Party I have coming up. (1st Time owner of these light) plug them up and I was shocked. The lights are bright and easy to use, the have all the plus as the most expensive ones out there. DMX in and out options. You can also choose a solid color and keep it on the color you choose or you can set the sound and it works like a champ. If your hesitant about getting these lights, don't be, get them and the price is right. My buddy of mine has similar lights and he paid close to 1500 for 8 of them and they do the same thing. #hegotrobbed# save you money and get these, but please leave some for me. lol

Comments about American DJ Mega Par Profile:

Ordered 3 of these to take on a 2-week tour. Definitely one of the best purchases I've made so far. These lights respond super fast to DMX and are more than bright enough to light up a stage. 3 of these and a water light was great for small stages.

They're built well and they're easy to use. I'll be ordering many more of these for future tours.

      Fantastic Light

      By David Turner

Comments about American DJ Mega Par Profile:

This is a great light, the only thing is they don't come with the iec adapter which is no problem for me since i will just order 25 ft connecters to connect them together. The case is strong, the yoke is over extend proof (Great Feature) I have gotten 4 so far and am going to order another 26 just for my uplighting.

      Excellent Inexpensive Uplighting

      By T. Matheny

      from Central NJ

Comments about American DJ Mega Par Profile:

I was originally going to purchase the Tri7's as they appear to be brighter. Since they were twice as expensive and there were limited open box units, I gave these mega pars a try. I have lots of lights but just starting to replace with LED's. These were easy to set up and using them with an RGB 3C, I found them to have lots of flexibility. They are plenty bright for banquet hall uplighting with ceilings of 12+ feet. Yes they do require specific wires in order to daisy chain them but I felt this to be an advantage. If you have tons of regular extension cords already, there is an adapter at mono price that plugs into these and terminates in a regular outlet. They are less than 2 bucks. So even if you have to buy these adapters, it is still very reasonable. Buying the full length of these special cords is still not that expensive and then you have a "dedicated" system. I just wanted to give these lights a fair shake. they are worth it. Now that the Tri7's are apparently discontinued, I am glad I got these as I plan to add more of them soon and would like to keep them all the same. Of course they stay cool and no duty cycle. During the dance part of a gig, the strobing and color changing works out very well.
