The Mega Tripar Profile from American DJ is a compact; low profile par designed for uplighting and stage lighting, and will bring color and excitement to any party. This fixture features an unique “sit-flat” design so that it may sit directly on the ground or inside truss without the scissor yoke because the power & DMX ins and outs are mounted on the side of the fixture, not on the rear.
The Mega Tripar Profile features 5x 3-Watt, 3-N-1 TRI LEDs that offers smooth RGB Color Mixing, has a 40-degree beam angle, 5 operational modes (including DMX, Sound Active and Master/Slave), and has 7 DMX Channel modes for a variety of programming options. Users can also use the ADJ LED RC wireless remote, which is sold separately, to control the Mega Tripar Profile.

Nice that its so small and really not noticable to the audience as a par can would be. I was worried about the brightness compared to a par can but if you have a few on each side you can have all of them on with your desired color instead of just one par can wioth a gel.

Light weight. Cool to touch after hours of use. Rich, intense color. Dual brackets allow for use on stand or on floor. (I prefer O-clamps to mount these to the pole via the dual bracket. No included with light at purchase.)
I own a small "sound and lighting for hire" company. I also perform in a "show" band. These lights are good for live performance stage wash (down lighting) and for use as effects (up lighting behind band or facing audience behind band.) They work very well for DJ lighting as well.
I used these ADJ Mega Tripar Profile with two ADJ Tri18 Flat LED (discontinued, replaced with Tri18X) on two different shows.
My only "Con" is that if you are clumsy, like me, and you adjust the lights while plugged in/turned on, you can accidentally change onboard DMX controls. Just be aware of your hand placement and you will not have any issues when adjusting these lights...very minor problem, only took twice to get it thru my thick head.
First show was live band (mine) at college homecoming. Tri18 for stage wash and Mega Tripar Profile for uplighting from floor. I only had 3 of the Profiles, number 4 backordered...so 3 Profiles, uplight behind band on curtains behind stage (motel multipurpose room)...Wash was a static color while the uplights had a slow scroll thru all colors with occasional high speed flash to music....Great set up with lots of compliments.
At a high school dance, I did a similar set up for the DJ support gig...Tri18 with a steady wash on the dance floor area of small town HS gym. Mega Tripar Profile, two per lighting stand, shining straight out at back wall in DJ controlled patterns. I received a lot of compliments on both sound and lighting. Teacher/sponsor told me best lighting they ever had. She said lighting reached all corners of gym so she had enough light at concession tables without ceiling lighting turned on. All students got into the emotion and party mood. Rebooked for future gigs already.
Four ADJ Mega Tripar Profile are "barely enough" for typical small bar band stage: 16ft x 16ft.
I used an ADJ RBG3C led controller for the Mega Profiles and a second RBG3C for the Tri18.
I use different controllers so I can control different model lights (Tri18 and Mega Profile) independent of each other...AND so I can rent either model independent of the other model. Controller is adequate for typical small club band stage wash; or for back lighting or uplighting.
In the past, I owned LED fixtures with individual Red-Gree-and-blue LEDs. Tri LEDs produce far richer and more intense color than individual color LEDs. Additionally, the typical low cost individual R-G-B LED fixture does not produce as bright light (lumiens). Four Mega Tripar LED will out perform six of the typical par64 LED fixtures with around 175-200 10mm individual R-G-B LED. You would probably be able to buy more of the individual R-G-B style lights but they would not be as bright as the Tri LEDs so you need more of the "old school LED".
(Seems kind of funny to call that "old school" when we still consider any LED to be "state of the art".)
One aspect of tri LED that I really like is "seeing color when you look at face of light". With traditional individual 10mm R-G-B LED, if you have a blended color (like pink or purple), when you look at the front of the fixture, you see lots of colored dots, but no specific color jumps out. You have to see what objects are being illuminated to get blended color effect. With triLED lamps, you SEE the color you want when you blend colors. This is an effect you have to see in person to understand.
My long range plans are to add another pair of the ADJ Mega Tripar Profile. Then, if I am still in business, add another pair of the ADJ Tri18.
I will note that ADJ is continually upgrading their product line to allow for new technology and new features. It is possible a model will only be on the market for one or two production runs...find what works for your needs, buy as many as you need and don't look back until you want to upgrade.
