Comments about Aphex Exciter:
I've owned this unit for two years. I had a phenomenal system to begin with.
You just can't believe how much difference it makes until you turn it off. The sound seemingly falls flat without it. It is the single best addition to my systems that I've ever owned.
Setting it up properly takes mere minutes and is well worth the effort.
I've had DJ's and musicians to the house to audition this unit. Every one of them started a search to buy one.
Buy one, you won't be sorry !

Comments about Aphex Exciter:
Sounds great out of the box, before even fiddling with it.......great value for the money and solidly constructed. Makes a whole world of difference in the home studio.
Just got it and have not been able to check out all the features....but like what I hear.
Solidly constructed.
Could not believe how inexpensive this was!
Comments about Aphex Exciter:
Bought this to mike my drums for outdoor gigs thru a yamaha emx5016cf. Most powered mixers will run out of headroom when running drums through them for outdoors. 500 watts per channel just isn't quite enough include the drums. The kick and snare are the two that really cause problems. The Aphex adds SIGNIFICANT clarity and presence without keeping the levels at acceptible levels to not cause clipping.
For kick drum use, it's almost magical. Chest pounding bottom end (with subs) and great articulation on the upper end. With virtually no messing with eq you'll have a great kick sound. Running the enitire drum submixer thru it also adds sparkle to the cymbals and great pop with just enough harmonics for the snare. I can't say enough about how good the entire sound is. After having one we bought a second to run the bass and lead vocal thru. For the bass, it also helps with clipping issues when running bass thru the PA
All in all, It was either this or more power for outdoor gigs. This was a cheaper option and has so many more uses for day in, day out gigs. Indoors, we use it for the kick and vocals. It makes it easier to hear the vocals in the monitor without pushing the levels to cause feedback. On FOH it helps the vocals cut through the mix. It's like taking a heavy wet blanket off the speakers. You have to hear it to believe it. You won't accomplish any of this by eq alone, because the aphex does it's thing by adding harmonics and imperceptibly stretching out the bass, not by boosting levels.
Just enough fine tuning but not too much. Simplicity in use at it's best.
Plastic knobs, but so is everything these days. Built to last
Don't even think about the Behringer knock-off. It's just not worth the nominal savings to do that. Go with the real thing.
