First off I'm a pro. engineer who has worked in major studios with famous artist. I have worked on almost every interface ever made. I bought an Apogee Symphony with the aes card along with high end mic Pres. such as the API 3124, UA 4-710, UA 6176, etc. and high end mics. I thought I was going to get a radio ready sound right out of the box with this converter and my high end pres. I was wrong. I can get the exact same sound out of a Focusrite Saffire pro 56, Apogee duet, digi 003, etc. and most other lower priced interfaces. The quality is good but if you did a blind test the average person would not be able to tell you which is what. Different yes but in a apples to oranges way.15 years ago high end gear was the way to go but today the lower priced stuff is coming with fantastic quality converters and pres. Invest in sound proofing your room and mastering how to use plug-ins! The high end gear is overpriced! Most reviews are based on hype. This is a very honest and pure review from actual experience hope it helps!
Its clear and good quality but it isn't super magical. A digi 192 or the AD 16x DA 16x, Lynx will compete all day long!
