Is this thing on? – Status and level indication
It’s easy to tell if MiC is connected properly by the status LED on the front of MiC. If it’s green, you are ready to record and the light becomes your input level indicator. If it turns red, you are rockin' the MiC too hard and need to turn your level down with the input gain control knob.
Check 1, 2... dial it in with easy level control
MiC features an input gain control knob. This rotary style wheel is conveniently located on the side of MiC for easy thumb access. With the level indication LED as your guide, the gain control knob allows you to fine tune for the perfect level without having to look at software.

With the addition of a Apple 30 pin to Thunderbolt adapter, this unit works out of the box with the built in "Camera" app on my iPhone5 as an external mic for recording video. The unit has a boost control and a green red activity indicator light. The included cord is only about a foot long however, so I ordered the optional 3 meter cord. Also the tripod ball tightening screw is a bit lame.

I tend to be skeptical of over-the-top reviews I read, and here I am writing one! I was blown away by the sound the MIC produced. It honestly sounds like I'm in a studio. The output certainly exceeds the financial investment. Great sound quality!

I program an Internet radio station, and I bought the Apogee MiC for use in situations where I didn't want to haul around my usual array of equipment (10 lbs & $2500 worth) for doing voice breaks on my station. I like it so much that I'm now using it full time. Absolutely amazing sound for the price. It also sounds great on acoustic guitar.

Great. I would buy another one if it were lost or stolen.
Plugs right into my iPhone 4s. Works in Garageband and every other recording app I've tried. Simple. Clean. Sounds great. I don't have tons of experience with condenser microphones--it definitely has a good sound, but I can't compare it other products out there.
The gain dial is easy to set. Turn it up all the way, then start playing. Back it down until it stops flashing red at you.

It's a very well built little guy. Nice and sturdy. I ordered the accessory kit from Apogee to give it a better home.
If you want a nice quality microphone that you can record with on the go, this is a great value.
