Comments about Arturia CS-80V Soft Synth:
I am surprised to see all 5-star reviews as I found the audio quality of this VST very much lacking. Feature-wise it's great (several additions not in the original including more modulation choices) but it sounds thin and rather boring with the echo and chorus turned off (they are ON in most of the factory patches). The famous CS80 presets accessible from the panel buttons are also quite lacking. I have version 2.3 of the CS-80V but the inexpensive ME80 VST from a one-man shop (MemoryMoon; I am not associated with them FYI) beats the pants off Arturia's more polished product when it comes to actual playing and recording. I would love it if Arturia was able to capture the magic of the CS80 in a future version but I'm not optimistic. I've worked hard to get good sounds out of this VST but have concluded they simply aren't there--but they are there in the ME80, fortunately for me as a Vangelis aficionado.

I recently purchased a copy of this.. its a great synth but beware that this is not a VSTi so if u use fl studio you will run into problems. u can still use it but its very annoying
Comments about Arturia CS-80V Soft Synth:
This is a fantastic recreation of the famous Yamaha CS-80 by Arturia. I'm not too hip on soft synths being faithful to original analog synths, but this one is pretty close to the original if not quite as analog/buzzy/fat. From the very first chord you hit, you'll be impressed. My main complaint is that this unit is that it's a resource hog. Unless you're running a powerful system with lots of RAM, be prepared to have a minimum amount of voices at your disposal especially when multi-tracking with other instruments. Users not familiar with the CS-80 may find that, while more modular than the original, the CS-80v doesn't have as diverse of sounds as many soft synths of today.
Comments about Arturia CS-80V Soft Synth:
Great VSTi. Yes, it does Vangelis very well. I was playing Chariots on a stock split patch a few minutes after I had it running. The interface is a great emulation, right down to the little spinning cooling fans in the corners.
Comments about Arturia CS-80V Soft Synth:
I was really impressed by the depth of sound - there are sooooo many controls to deal with... it took a bit to get used to the layout, but it is true to the original in that regard :) Also, a bit of a CPU hog - but it's sound is really lush and worth it.
Comments about Arturia CS-80V Soft Synth:
A stunning recreation of the classic super-synth. I've only used the demo so far, but I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail. Imagine a very expensive synth for peanuts - you gotta be absolutely nuts not to like it. My hat's off to the French - here's another winner after the Moog Modular VST, red Bordeaux and ripe Brie! Uncork the Champagne and celebrate the new arrival.
