Works Just Fine

By Dan Coy

from Atlanta

Comments about Audio-Technica AT831B Lavalier Condenser Microphone:

I use this on my Gitane DG-300 (gypsy jazz) acoustic guitar, it gets a full natural sound unlike other pickup systems and it's simple to install or remove as needed.
Pretty simple to operate; clip it on, use one AA battery or phantom power, select either flat response or low roll off.

Good microphone but could use more mounting options

Comments about Audio-Technica AT831B Lavalier Condenser Microphone:

I bought this microphone to use on acoustic guitar. The included sound hole mount works and the adjustment allows for some limited tonal adjustments. Audio-Technica should consider offering additional instrument mounts for this quality microphone such as the 4099G mount offered by DPA that positions the microphone over the fretboard of the guitar for more natural sound. I prototyped an alternative such mount and the results are encouraging.

          By zsmke2OV6

          from METTER, GA

Comments about Audio-Technica AT831B Lavalier Condenser Microphone:

Great microphone, especially for acoustic guitar. Wish that adaptor clips for mandolin and violin could be easily found. Bought this things several years ago and I am still looking.
