I am satisfied for investing on these cans. I appreciate the most the natural response and sound reproduction unlike with other cans, of this type, who seems to be to hypey with their base. These are able to capture other flaws of a mp3 file like (sibilants, plosives, crackles and hisses) which might have slipped through  the recording process. One of the things i appreciate on these cans, you could hear all the sounds even the smallest ones like egg-shakers and other small instruments. Also, i seem to get the feeling that i am just inside a studio watching and listening to singing artist. further, it has good clamping force which it wouldn't fell or slip off from your head when you bend over or do a little bit of head banging. good job Audio Technica.

Perhaps I got a bad pair, but these cans don't seem very accurate at all. They reproduce the low end surprisingly well, if not too aggressively, but the mids and highs drop off, sucking the life out of my mixes. Most things sound dull and lack punch through these things. Luckily, I mix on a decent pair of monitors (as should everyone!) and only use these to check sub-bass frequencies. One thing I like about these headphones is they form a good seal and don't bleed reference material when tracking. As some users have mentioned though, they can feel a little tight after wearing for extended periods of time. Also, I don't particularly care for the swiveling can design, as they're always spinning around when I'm trying to put the headphones on. At any rate, I'll probably go back to AKG for my next set of headphones..

The headphones themselves look nice, feel nice and are very flexy. Quality overall in manufactureing seems nice. Now to whats most important sound. The sound is quality for produceing music so its not bose, but you can hear ALOT more than you can with normal headphones. pretty much any frequency  you can throw at it is audible. The treble and mid doesnt drop when the tough gets on it like with alot of stuff. So far haveing them allows me to hear where i need to edit levels to make the song sound right, its worth the money i think.

I have made my living recording and mixing since 1982. I live in the studio. I recommend these headphones because they are comfortable, accurate, and provide great isolation. One of the things I like is that they reveal low frequencies that are hard to hear sometimes in near field speakers. They are also good for fine tuning balances in a mix at low levels and have excellent spacial reproduction. They do not fall apart either which is always a big factor when spending this kind of money.

I got these headphones after my old ATH-M30's started to get really gross after 5+ years of use. The build quality on these is great and a step above the M30s. They're also more comfortable to wear for long periods and provide better isolation. However, I was very disappointed with what was most important: the sound. When doing A/B comparisons of these phones with the M30's and then testing using my high end JBL monitors, there are definitely problems with the frequency response of these headphones. The low mids and bass frequencies are at least 6dB too loud and it sounds like there is a huge scoop from about 1kHz to 4kHz which totally kills the presence and punch of most sources. I was hoping to get some phones with slightly better high end than the M30s (which taper off dramatically above 10kHz), but was sorely disappointed in the overall sound of these headphones. I'm probably getting another pair of M30s to use for everyday listening to replace these.
