I bought this in hopes to be able to monitor my bands recording live. Yes I have a basement studio. The fact of the matter is that these block out noise or "isolate" about as good as a sheet of paper would. And if that doesn't matter to you then I think you could still find better headphones as far as quality goes for cheaper, the sound inside them is average.
After receiving these headphones, I was just a little disappointed with the sound quality. They are not bad, but I have cheaper headphones that I think sound much more "full".I bought these because I needed "isolating" headphones to use for mixing live sound at church. I needed to be able to block out the room audio to only hear what was being recorded out of the mixer. The headphones are fairly good at blocking outside noise, yet they're still comfortable. For the "isolating" purpose I purchased them, they fit my need. If my first priority had been a great sounding set of headphones, I would have been somewhat disappointed.
These head phones have a good sound. The bass isn't too overwhelming, and the highs are crisp. The construction has the potential to be fragile, but so far I haven't had any issues. I currently own two pairs, and have only spoken positively of them. Just don't treat them rough and you should be fine!
