I have owned this mic for about 5 years and have found it's a great for using on camcorders. The recording quality is far superior to the camera's internal mic, but not as good as some other professional video mics. Overall it's worth the investment.
This is an excellent mic foe video use. So far no problems, nice selection of accessories included. Excellent value. Far better than mics built in to the camera. Also works well with a boom set up.
This fairly natural sounding shotgun mic certainly beats most in camera microphones any day. Good for low-budget filmmakers looking to improve the quality of their audio without spending too much. My only complaint with this product is that when the cable coming out the back is moved it makes obnoxious squeaking noises which the microphone picks up. This can be fixed by cutting off the plastic cord keeper at the bottom of the microphone. Overall, good sound and tight pickup pattern.
