OVERVIEW

Wireless guitar system with pedal-style receiver.

Audio-Technica's System 10 Stompbox digital high-fidelity guitar wireless system combines the advanced 24-bit operation, easy setup and clear, natural sound quality of other System 10 configurations with unique functionality for guitarists, bassists and other instrumentalists. Operating in the 2.4 GHz range, far from TV and DTV interference, System 10 Stompbox offers a rugged, metal, pedal board-mountable receiver with foot switch, two switched TRS balanced 1/4" outputs and an output mode selector. With the tap of a foot, musicians can toggle between outputs (e.g., for switching amps) or mute and unmute one output without muting the other (e.g., for convenient tuning). And a single receiver can be paired with up to eight UniPak body-pack transmitters, allowing users to easily switch between instruments without having to move a body-pack from one instrument to the next.

System 10 wireless ensures clear communications by providing three levels of diversity assurance: frequency, time, and space. Frequency Diversity sends the signal on two dynamically allocated frequencies for interference-free communication. Time Diversity sends the signal in multiple time slots to maximize immunity to multipath interference. Finally, Space Diversity uses two antennas on each transmitter and receiver to maximize signal integrity.

Each Stompbox system includes an ATW-R1500 Stompbox receiver, an ATW-T1001 UniPak body-pack transmitter with an AT-GcW guitar cable, and hook & loop strips for adding receiver to an effects pedal board. The ATW-R1500 is a digital receiver with sturdy, metal-body construction, easy-to-read digital ID and transmitter battery level displays, and AF Peak and Pair indicator lights.

Consumer Alert:

Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. For more information, call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC) or visit the FCCs wireless microphone website at: www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones.

Good wireless unit, No tone coloring, not good on battery

By YQ

from New Jersey

Comments about Audio-Technica ATW-1501 System 10 Stompbox Digital Wireless Guitar System:

I like it. My guitar sounds the same using this unit as it does using a cable. It worked just fine within 50 feet in an audience filled venue but beyond that, I started to hear some delay. Using a wireless system allows me to walk around during sound check to make sure everyone is heard. I didn't experience any drop-outs in the two shows I used it.
I like this unit much better that the Shure UHF one which I stopped after couple times.
That Shure system colored my sound, in some cases, the latency caused my guitar sound like a violin!

A pair of AA battery pretty much lasts around 4, 5 hours with continuous use. I think that is an area for improvement.

Good Sound, Eats Batteries

Comments about Audio-Technica ATW-1501 System 10 Stompbox Digital Wireless Guitar System:

Sounds great and functions like it should. I like the ability to switch channels as I have a piezo pickup on my Tele. It eats batteries! I get 3 hours and have to change them, generally in the middle of a show. Otherwise, no complaints.

Comments about Audio-Technica ATW-1501 System 10 Stompbox Digital Wireless Guitar System:

      Very Disappointed.
Despite buying two transmitters, the system is too slow on the switching of instruments.
I cannot run my basses all the way up to trigger y effects the way I like nor create my tone witht eh full power of the pickups.
      Pathetic

Love the fact that the receiver is a pedal, makes it really easy to mute the system, and one less cord going back to my amp. The sound is amazing, even better than most cables I've used in the past. The battery signal strength meter also makes it easy to know when you need to change your battery between sets.

I was absolutely thrilled to receive a tank for a stompbox. This is NOT a flimsy piece of plastic. Clean switching to guitar #2 or to mute with no snap. I have the transmitter velcro'd upside-down to the back of my bass to hide it and it works like a charm. Batteries replaced from front cover - which is nice not to have to un-velcro the unit to change them.

Comments about Audio-Technica ATW-1501 System 10 Stompbox Digital Wireless Guitar System:

Stomp box is bullet proof. I was a bit amazed at how simple the set up is....plug it in, turn it on and go. No battery or sound problems so far (with a total of four shows)It's almost weird to not be tethered. I still find myself reaching down to move cords out of the way.
MF has a good return policy so I knew I could try it out and return it if it was garbage. It's a keeper and I am Free at last.

Comments about Audio-Technica ATW-1501 System 10 Stompbox Digital Wireless Guitar System:

Very good product. I ordered this against my better judgement because there were no reviews. This was less expensive than the Shure or the Line 6 variety of the same pedal style wireless product. I like the setup better too. Be nice if it had a tuner built in...minor gripe.

I replaced a Samson Concert 77 with this. The Samson worked great on guitar, but on 5 string bass it was lacking and noisy on the B (hisssss). The AT unit is great and none of that. I like the fact you can use the second channel as tuner mute or as A/B. Pedal board setup is a no brainer...no more running cables back from the board to the unit sitting on top of my amp or another stupid location. Very pleased with this. I cannot honestly tell the difference between cable and wireless. Little pricey, but any good wireless instrument system is.
