Comments about Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System:
I was reading some reviews on here and I think that some people aren't using the system right.
Let me just clear things up.
There is a difference between mic and line level. People were claiming that it was too quiet, and yes, it is EXTREMELY quiet if you do not run it through some sort of mixing board. If I were to plug my mic straight into the transmitter, then there's no way I'd be able to hear myself over all the instruments. But, if you're playing at a place where the sound guy can run in ears then you can give your transmitter to him and he can run the monitor outs of the board into your transmitter. These signals will then be "line level" and that's what this system (and all systems) are made for.
I use this system for mostly every gig I play. I run my own vocal mic through them thanks to a mic splitter and a small mini mixer that I have mounted in my rack case. I plug my mic into the input of the splitter, then one output goes into the board, and one output goes into my mini mixer back at my rack case. The mini mixer then converts the signal to line level and I run stereo outputs into the transmitter.
Don't listen to the people who say it's too quiet. They don't understand this. None of these systems would be loud enough if you're running a mic level signal! This is a very good in ear system. The transmitter is metal and could definitely take a little of a beating, and the bodypack, although made of plastic, could also take a beating as well.
I would definitely recommend this system because it's very easy to set up and even with the setup I'm running (my mic splitter is kinda broken) it still produces clear sound and it's very easy to hear myself on stage.
To all these people saying that it's too quiet, if you set it up the correct way, then you could have this thing absolutely blowing up your ear drums.
All in all, a great wireless system.
Comments about Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System:
Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System!!As a vocalist in a hard rock band this is the best piece of equipment I have ever purchased. If I can help it I will never perform another show without them. The headphone as you have been reading is junk, but replace them with a nice set if in-ears and you got yourself a great set. I got in-ear molds at a place on line. www.earplugsuperstore. For $115.00 they sent me an impressions kit. I molded them myself, sent them back, and in two weeks I got a fresh pair of in-ear molds. These molds replace the existing buds on your head phones. If you move around on stage like you should this is a must. In-ear monitors are so important to me. I no longer have to fight the band to hear myself at practice, and I no longer have to deal with floor monitors on stage. The best thing is I can hear myself crystal clear, in increases my vocal endurance, and best of all I don?t have ringing ears an after practice and a gig. I would defiantly recommend these to anyone. I have had this set for 6 months now.
Comments about Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System:
These are a terrible unit.1) The RF noise is really bad.2) They are so quiet, they are unusable on stage, even in Church3) The sound quality is terrible. Even with $500 ear buds, the sound is the worst I
Comments about Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System:
I purchased this M2 stuff recently, and I used it several times during the rehearslas. As drummer, needed to hear all the band crystal clear. Well, the headphones provided are not so loud as I expected, but I used a pair of Sennheiser CX271 (120 db) that are much better. Overall I like very much this stuff, but to hear all well, you need to be friend with the sound engineer....otherwise all the best gear in the World won't help you at all.
Comments about Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System:
I used this for the first time last night and discovered that I could not get enough volume by plugging my microphone (SURE 58) straight into the M2 unit but we fixed that by running a monitor mix from the board and it was great. (I actually had to have them turn my down mid gig which has never happened before). Next we are going to run two channels from the board to the M a solo VOX channel and Band Mix which I?m guessing will fix my volume issues and allow me to use the personal mix on the body pack. We defiantly have a way to go before this is dialed in but I like it better than floor wedges and can defiantly see the potential. I?ve never heard myself so clear before, it?s not loud and thumping but I?m OK with that since I can hear everything. I am going to upgrade the ear buds ASAP since they distorted a bit on the kick drum but very happy so far.
Comments about Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System:
If you play anywhere bigger than a coffeehouse then this unit is just not loud enough. After recieving one that didn't work at all I had to argue with the customer service department at AT to send me a replacement. When I got the replacement unit I was greatly disappointed with the quality of the unit and the volume level. In order to hear anything every knob, on the board and the unit itself, had to be turned all the way up. I regret buying the unit and I now realize that I should have bought the shure psm200. I will be selling the unit.
Comments about Audio-Technica M2 In-Ear Wireless Monitor System:
I recently purchased this set of in-ears on suggestion...I wasn't considering Audio-Technica at first but wow I'm sure glad I did. These in Ears are absolutely incredible! The ear buds deafen any cymbal bleed or any unwanted noise, the controls are very easy to turn your level up or down while on stage, and the transmitter sends a clear and crisp signal. I've always struggled with hearing my vocals at shows or even at practice and it caused me to be pitchy and sometimes out of tune but ever since owning these those problems are no more. Im finally "one of those guys" who always says...if you spend the money and get a good set of in-ears...it will be the best investment you ever made! And this statement reads completely true. Features: Good Standard Features...a (4.5) Cause to adjust your channels on your receiver is a little harder then the Digital Display M3 model but not impossible. Quality:(5.0) I was very happy to see the rackmount panels for the Transmitter and the Belt Clip is very strong and I have no worrys have it breaking while on stage. The Audio quality is crisp and clear through the supplied ear buds. Value: (5.0) I always think wireless is too expensive to begin with but with all music gear you get what you pay for. Overall: Absolutely great unit if your looking for a good set of in-ears...not the cheapest but worth the money.
