I tried PRO 24 with Sony PCM D50 and Edirol R09 and it shows a very very low output on both recorders. Pluged into a mixer the mic gain should be adjusted to maximum to get some sound and much noise. I believe that my unit is not defective because many people have the same complaints. Very bad...

I own this mic (if can call this a mic.). It's simply one of the worst microphones I ever tested. My Macbook's microphone is way much better than this little thing...there's simply no gain, it's noisy, the battery won't last a day, terrible! Do yourself a favor and buy something else...

I gave it a 3.0 in "Features" because in theory it should be a pretty sweet mic. But, alas...First off, it is impossible to get phantom power to the mic when you have its signal split into L and R channels (using a splitter purchased elsewhere) -- I use a Presonus FP10. Second, the battery dies quickly. Third, it barely picks up any audio, even when the mic pres are turned way up. I've recently donated this mic to a friend of mine who is trying to make microphones out of lasers. I would not recommend this mic.

I had much higher hopes for this mic. The output is so low, that you allmost have to use two preamps combined to get decent levels. What this means is the signal to noise is very poor. Also, the on off switch is so small, and indented, so you have to use a fingernail to turn it off, and on. Not a bad mic sound wise, but needs loud sources to overcome poor self noise.

I record at home both solo and projects with my band. I was using this as an overhead mic in conjunction with a PG56 and a PG52 on the drums. So far it really seems to pick up a good stereo image and is a good representation of the sound source (toms, cymbals, etc). However, when I used a splitter adapter for L and R, I HAD to use the battery instead of phantom power. But, it didn't seem to affect the quality. I'd recommend it. Especially for the price. As far as placement of the mic goes, even the slightest variation seemed to change the sound. Which is a feature I personally think is useful.

I am a big fan of audio-technica but this mic fell below the bar. It is a fair product but don't plan on getting good sound out of it recording your acoustic guitar.

I got this mic for use with my mini disc recorder, and it turned out to be a really good performer. The feature that allows you to use both "plug in power" from a devise (like my mini disc recorder) and power supplied in the mic was perfect for my use. awesome quality, with clean and vibrant recordings straight out of the box, all in a mic that is reletivly cheap. i highly recommend it!

I use this mic for recording onto my DP-01 8 track digital recording system. I have a $** Nady dynamic mic, and I can definitely tell the difference between the nady and this one. This mic sounds great, but that's comparing it to a crappy mic. I'm sure there are better mics out there, but this one definitely serves my purpose of recording vocals. I have recorded a drumset with this mic by itself, sounds descent for rough demos, but def. not professional sounding. Professional quality vocals can be reached by adding a mic tube pre-amp (around $**). But by itself it sounds great for recording.
