OK I've had this for 5 months now and to be completely fair I have to say at first I thought it was amazing. Now after five months there is a terrible ground and static problems with the unit, I tried it with about 7 different computers including laptops, desktops, macs or pcs and in and out of my home studio still, with the same result. The knobs broke apart after 3 months and you will think, well... maybe I didn't take good care of the unit but that is not the case. It also has problems working with almost any DAW that is not Pro Tool and if in case you want to use this with your PC apparently AVID forgot to update their Pro Tools LE 8 software with the new Windows 7 but NO wait it still works like junk in any windows computer while using Pro Tools LE 8.
At least a firewire port would have been nice for the price !!
To expensive for what in brings to the table.

The Mbox and pro tools software are nice, but are incredibly difficult to use. Everything I did resulted in some kind of software error. I tried to get all my problems solved by called avid but of course I had to be put on hold for an hour, and you only get 1 call before you have to start paying for help. It is way to much money to be this frustrating to use.

Hope you are not an unlucky customer like me. This is the first time I get my hand on an avid product and what I got was a mess. It comes with Pro Tools LE 8.04. Right after they put out this new mbox, they release Pro Tools 9 and of cos that means you have to pay another hundreds if you want to upgrade. And the hardware is more expensive than the mbox 2 by about 20%. But that's ok IF it is really such a good interface. Sadly there is a critical defect in its internal clock that would cause all 48k and 96k sample rate output in a lower pitch which is almost a major 2nd. I brought up this problem with the local distributor that I've purchased from and they told me that they have just realized that all of the mbox3 in their stock have the same problem. And for more than 3 weeks from the day I called them, they cannot settle the return or refund or repair, etc. with Avid yet. What they told me is that Avid kept responding with some nonsense and is not helpful at all. Now I am still using it at only 44.1k for all my project, without any solution with Avid and its distributor yet.My advice is, if you really want this trash for any reason like you are an Avid fans or you want an old pro tools LE with an ridiculous price, good luck to you. Otherwise, stay away with it there are better hardware and software out there.

Just unboxed it a while ago, hooked it up to my PC, easy to install pro tools 8, easy to learn, love the quality, love the way it looks, the weight, it's a very good product for it's price. I recommend it if you are an amateur recording artist and you think you have the talent to take it to the next level this will help a lot in terms of audio quality.
