Takes the traditional folded horn design to the next level.
Built to withstand the abuse of the road, the B-52 LX-18 V2 Subwoofer is backed by a lifetime cabinet construction warranty. An internal compression chamber provides intense, clean and controlled bass. At the heart of the LX-18 V2 is the B-52 18-200X with a cast-aluminum frame, massive 200-oz. magnet, double spider anti-rocking surround and innovative 4" dual-layered, tempered voice coil. It also features 4" heavy-duty casters for ease of mobility and increased cabinet longevity and a rock-solid tilt-back metal bar handle for increased mobility.
B-52 18-200X Subwoofer
The B-52 18-200X 18" subwoofer features a cast-aluminum frame, 200-oz. magnet structure, double spider anti-rocking surround, a bumped back plate for greater excursion and 4" dual-layered tempered voice coil. The voice coil is wound with 4 layers of 25-gauge copper wire, optimally sized for this motor.
Internal compression chamber
The B-52 18" subwoofer's acoustic load is controlled by a specially designed horn and compression chamber that minimizes the excursion of the driver while maximizing the system's output. The optimally sized acoustic aperture of the compression chamber forms the throat of the horn and helps to force air through the horn at an increased velocity and pressure. The compression chamber optimizes the horn's output and the acoustic impedance seen by the B-52 18-200L transducer. It is this acoustic impedance transforming "phase-plug" design that enables the LX-Series subwoofers to achieve amazing and unprecedented output levels.

Bought these along with some LX1515 ACT speakers and these things thump! Very pleased! I run a Behringer 2500watt amp to push these and it does the job and then some!
My live sound company bought two of these about 6 months ago for doing smaller to medium-sized shows around our area. We wanted some subs that would fit nicely in our trailer and still be able to thump when we pull 'em out. We looked at these and demoed them side-by-side with Carvin 2x18's, Yamaha 2x18's, JBL 1x18's, and Cerwin-Vega 1x18's. We played the same song through all the subs, hooked up to a PLX3602 that was just about cranked. These kicked harder and sounded MUCH tighter and better than ANY of the other budget-subs we looked at. You will NOT be sorry if you pick these up! We're planning on gettin 2 or 4 more of them and runnin some more Macro-Tech 5000's through them! They sound UNBELIEVABLE with bass guitar and kick, and we do almost all metal shows, so you need to feel that kick, and you REALLY can with these! Fantastic, unbeatable subwoofers for the budget sound guy. Don't go with anything else, you'll be sorry!!!
I own a pair of B-52 LX 1515's and I can't wait to get the money to pair these up with them. I haven't heard them and don't need to after my experiance with the 1515. I'm SURE these these will be WELL worth my money. No more borrowing other people's equipment, outdoor gig here we come.
