I have owned this rascal for over a year now and it has NEVER missed a beat! I use it with my drum rig and for band practice as noise is a problem where I live. First, the ability to control as much as you can with this little box is amazing. Balance, gain, levels and these can work for all the headphones. My hearing is horrible from "rocking" for too many years and shooting lots of guns in the military, so my levels need to be a bit higher. My band mates on the other hand like lower levels as they haven't abused their ears as bad as I have. Also, i like to practice through my rig running effects and my drums sound amazing through this little box. Anyone can pick up a pair of phones, adjust the gain to THEIR liking and listen to you jam. Really awesome! I also like the fact that it is very quiet. No noise at all.I am a bit concerned with the "haters" out there. I have owned various pieces of Behringer gear in the past and I have never had a single issue or problem with any of them. They have always worked and done exactly what they claim and the AMP800 is no different. Great value and clean, pristine sound for the money. It is the best $$$ I ever spent!

I used this to record my 4 piece band. It was nice because it allowed 2 different headphone mixes, so the drummer could hear more of the guitars, and the guitarists and bassist could hear the overall mix. The only problem is the output is pretty weak... it does not push out a lot of volume. Do not make the mistake of trying to push the volume over the point of clipping... this caused my 2nd channel to go out. If you do not need the headphones to be at really high levels then this works great... otherwise you might want to shy away from this and look for a better alternative

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

I bought this guy so that my band can use in ear monitors for practice instead of going deaf. I also use it for recording bands. I run a mix into this from my firestudio interface. It puts out a very good amount of volume for in ears, or perhaps some good isolating cans (note: you don't need as much volume when background noise is isolated) So I'd recommend good headphones.

The Best $40 ever spent

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

I've been using this unit in my home recording studio for approximately 14 months now, and haven't encountered a single problem with it. When I bought this, I also bought 3 sets of Sennheiser HD 202 headphones to pair with it. The combination of these headphones with this amp have proven to be excellent! Originally, I bought this to isolate my band's sound because the neighbors called the cops on us frequently for playing during the wrong time of day/night (we practiced late into the night usually). Now nobody hears a thing but us, and the cops can stop interrupting practice time. I should also note, I play a Roland TD-3 electronic drum set, so there's no extra sound-proofing needed for my situation. All instruments are plugged into the mixer, and goes from there to the headphone amp as well as to the computer for recording purposes. Works out very nice! Lastly, the fact that this headphone amp has a "link out" is going to come in quite handy when I purchase a pair of studio monitors in the near future to add to my studio.

Well worth the money

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

This is one item that I do not ever want to be without. I don't even want to remember how I managed before I got it. I sometimes record metal bands and if I have something I need to tell the singer, I can switch his headphones to the other channel during a vocal break. All the while the other members are still recording and hearing only the music. This amp is the most indispensable piece in my studio. I have it fed from my interface and then my monitors hook up to it.
With 2 input channels and 4 output channels, I can easily switch any given listener to hear my voice though channel 2 while the others are still recording and listening on channel 1.
This headphone amp provides plenty of rumbling lows while keeping the highs bight and clear.
Had this headphone amp been over $200, I still would have purchased one. This will forever be in my studio.

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

This unit will be used to provide earphone signals to a quartet during a recording session. There are 4 outputs and 2 inputs. You cannot mix the 2 inputs; you get to choose one or the other for each output. This will necessitate an outboard mixer just for the phone mixes.

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

I've had it for 4 years already.
Several reviewers point to the fact that one channel on one of the inputs goes out after awhile, well, this happenned to me, first the A input and then the B was affected! But wait... I think I have the solution so read on:
I almost bought another one! but some curiosity saved the day.
Pulled the amp apart, several small phillips screw, etc. There are a couple of ribbon cables inside, disconnect them and connect again. Put device together again, presto.
Reason: the contacts fail due to heat over a period of time, when the signal is too strong the voltage seemingly affects the connection leading to believe that something blew off inside, when in reality its just a faulty contact.

Mine is just as new after that, if it happens againI'll know what to do.

Thanks Behringer for an excellent device!

This is a great product by Behringer! I run multiple phones, using different sources, all at the same time with no problem at all. It puts out pleanty of power. Also fits in a 1/2 rack space. The only thing that gets in the way is the wall wart power supply. Great Product!

not too bad for a cheap headphone amp..

By gibson9001

from pittsburgh, pa

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

If you're looking for an extremely low-noise amp, this isn't the one for you (not good for critical listening). But if you just need to route a signal to multiple headphones, it does the trick. I got it just to amplify a click track while drumming, and it works great. Some say that it's not loud enough, but I don't know what they're talking about: it can hurt your ears if you're not careful. For the price, it's probably the best unit around.

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

Bought this thing from a local music store. It worked once. Then after the return period ended, it croaked. No input being picked up. I've had other Behringer products before and know that sometimes the quality is lacking. Hopefully, Behringer customer service will replace it. Good idea for the product, just poor workmanship. The thing rattles inside and produces no sound.

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

Man, I just got a Delta 1010, and I love it, what can I say? BUT i'm used to recording the old way though ya know, the computers awesome Realtek drivers. I kicked those to the curb and found that this amp is almost taking the place for my all around studio buddy. With it, not only do you have two mixes of whatever you want but it has a link out to hook up your monitors! Which is perfect for A/D converters that dont have preamps or anythng thing optional like the Delta. All I had to do was get some TRS to Phono RCA jacks and I could hook up any consumer electronic I needed to to monitor! This is a great, cheap meathod for many project studios not to mention for any band like my own that is vocally driven, truely behringer makes things for guys like me and i'm grateful for it, big time.

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

This product has functioned great. Although I don't use it exactly as it was designed for, headphones, it has opperated perfectly. I use it at a church sound booth: one line to feed the nursery sound, one for simple line-in to the computer, one for a cordless feed for headphones for the usher on duty, and one for the sound booth use. Had it for 2 years with no problems.

winger sucks, and so does this!!

By Rock'n Ron

from Everett, Wa

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

This is a bad choice for the application I wanted to use it for. I wanted to push the volume out of my floor processor into headphones because I do not have an amp yet and I want to save up for the right one. The volume level is poor. My processor is louder. The sound quality sucks. I use akg 240m pro studio headphones and the behringer mini amp made them sound like garbage. This might work well for other applications but for the fact that it didn?t work out for mine makes wonder if this product is a all around piece of junk. I will be very hesitant at looking into behringer products in the future

I bought one of these so our 5 piece bluegrass band could do a cd, it worked great, we had 2 sound guys and the five of us plugged in, routed it from mains and back to monitors. Lots of flexibility. Only wish it was not plastic. I hope we don't drop in the future. Sound quality was clear and plenty loud.

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

Cheap construction, all plastic. I'm sure the pots are connected to the main board, so if it falls and lands on a knob, it will probably break the board. I purchased it to use at a location gig with an early music ensemble. It served my purposes. For the price it is a good deal, but I'll have to take care of it in the studio. I'll probably use velcro and have a dedicated stand to hold it in a room. This has a lot of different options for the price including an A or B mix and up to eight headphones (two per channel). I expect this will break with normal use.
