I have been a pro speaker fanatic practically all my life. I've owned JBL's, Peavey's(SP5/TLS 5), Mackie's and the like and they were all great but always had a harmonious sound imbalance. If the bottom wasn't overbearing, the highs were too piercing. There always seem to be more bottom traveling further into the audience than mid's or high's which generally drop off about midway even with adequate equalization. However, with the B1520 Pro's, I don't have that problem even without equalizing. These speakers provide perfectly balanced and harmonious sound output that is pristine clean and natural not processed sounding. Great speakers. I think I'll add the B1220 Pro monitors to my system as well.

I'm not sure how this product has 5 stars across the board. I started helping out with the childrens ministry at my church and they had 3 of these, of which only 1 was fully functional. One had a crackling tweeter and the other had no bass.

Long story short, I opened the 2 partially working ones up and both had elements on the crossover that had broken solder joints. Most pieces were held on with hot glue or zip ties. After I fixed the solder joints, both speakers worked perfectly. Neither speaker had evidence of abuse or even being dropped.

It would have been 3 stars since 1 for 3 is a pretty bad record. However, even in working condition the sound quality was mediocre at best. The highs get harsh and almost distorted at louder volumes (tested with multiple professional level amps). I used to own some cheaper Yamaha BR15s that I thought were more reliable and performed better.

The one thing I will give Behringer on these speakers is that they have great bass response. Unfortunately they only advertise a useless (-10db) frequency response so I don't know what the real usable range is but these guys crank out some nice bass when you EQ for it. But what good is that when you can't even rely on the crossover to hold up to regular road use! I've always heard the joke that all of Behringer's products are put together with hot glue. Unfortunately this one is not an exception

Comments about Behringer B1520 Pro Eurolive Professional Series 15" 2-Way Speaker:

I work as both a DJ and a Sound Engineer. These speakers are awesome. I had a speaker cable go bad at a mobile DJ gig and I had to run only one speaker for the entire night. I didn't even have to pump it and it sounded great and didn't strain the speaker hardly at all. WELL worth the price and VERY RELIABLE. I lug these speakers around in my truck all the time back and forth to gigs and they still work as if they were never moved. Great buy!

Comments about Behringer B1520 Pro Eurolive Professional Series 15" 2-Way Speaker:

I've been a bit of a speaker snob in the past about other Behringer products but I just couldn't resist these for the specs and price. Not quite as loud as expected but very crisp and clear- sounding. These are very well built. I plugged a pair of these into an industrial use Fender 1200W power amp in passive mode input by a Presonus Firepod with my Roland TD-20 V-drums, cranked the amp up all the way (this is how I determine the worth of speakers) and while the bass did distort on over-driven signals a little (which any speaker would do on the same amp and dynamics that module puts out), the highs were still crisp and clear. I put a limiter in the chain and it got the bass spikes under control. I still don't know if the 15's can handle the amount of bass I think they should have but for the price overall, a pretty powerful speaker. I got the BX1600 sub for more bass instead and as a three piece WITH the sub, it's a very full sounding and well-rounded system...although I still expected ALOT more kick out of the sub. The ideal setup for these speaker FOH would be 4 of these and 2 subs. These would be ideal for a loud metal band as monitors alone also. Since these take the Speakon connectors, be sure to get the right ones and if you have never used Speakons before, you have to insert and TWIST the plug to engage it. I about had a fit after an hour of fiddling with cords before I discovered the extra TWIST step on the speakon connectors.

    quite unbelievable

Comments about Behringer B1520 Pro Eurolive Professional Series 15" 2-Way Speaker:

I got these speakers expecting a decent sound but not this decent. I really was impressed when I fired these up. The low end was very impressive. These are a stamped frame 15's so you just aren't going to get the quality that you would from a cast ev or jbl but this stamped did produce a better low end than a cast yamaha from a s115v cab. The hi and mid are quite good also. Not as good as a high dollar ev, jbl and not quite as smooth as the s115v yamaha hi/mid but for the $ you just can't beat the quality. I would suggest the b1520pro over the e1520 if for nothing else the power handling spec.

I have been playing professionally since 1986, I have used alll kinds of speakers. These Behringer speakers are just awesome. We just played 1000 seat room with a pair of B1520 & B1800X Subs and these amazing speakers literally rattled drinks across the bar, with no distortion. Behringer is a company that has gotten it right. Great product at great prices.

Finally you can have your cake and eat it to. For the price you just can't beat these speakers. I owned the equivalent of these in the peavey name brand and fried the crossover the first day with a nady power amp! Don't waste your time on peveay or Musicians friend. After MF gave me trouble returning the peaveys I bought these behringers at a local music shop for about the same price MF had them listed. Support your local music shop and behringer. (Oh, and if your wondering about the sound. The cabs are voiced heavenly!)

I bought on of these at a thrift store for 5 measly bills with the tweeter missing. I went and got the original driver, and horn, and hooked it up. It was like Frankenstein's first night of life! "It's alive, It's alive, It's alive!!!! I am making a trip all the way to Redding to pick up a second speaker of the same model to match the first one (which is a 6.5hr trip from where I live) So, that should tell you I am very committed to having this pair from what I heard from just one of these monsters!!

Comments about Behringer B1520 Pro Eurolive Professional Series 15" 2-Way Speaker:

I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged a pair of these speakers in! These are truly a QUALITY speaker for a reasonable price. I have used plenty of Peavey & Yamaha gear and nothing even comes close to Behringer's performance for the price. Great company to deal with as well! I have them running off a Behringer mixer and QSC RMX2450. The sound is clean and crisp and loud as hell!
