Just a few things before I start my review.
1. If you want that great sub bass that everyone wants, get a subwoofer. You will never get that sub bass from any top cab.
2. I use a Behringer PMP1680S Mixer/Amp to run 2 of these, so that is what my review will reflect.

With that said, MAN! What a Speaker! This thing sounds great! The sound carries and you can hear it very clear from a good distance away from it!

The speaker has 1/4" in and out and a speakon in and out on the back. I use the speakon in and out, but the 1/4" ins and outs sound great too!

The speaker says it runs 250 watts rms and 1000 watts max. I don't know how much of that I believe, but it really will handle some power! I run 2 of these daisy chained together out of an 800 watt max amp. I never turn the amp up more than half way, and it has always been enough power.

The treble (highs) are fantastic! They travel well and can be run hard to push great sound out at high pressure levels.
The bass (lows) are really something else, there is not much midbass, some good lower mid bass though. I have used these at country bars and for wedding receptions by themselves, but for club and bar gigs I add an 18" subwoofer to fill out the sound for hip hop and dance music.

They are relatively lightweight for what they are. No built-in amps to make them heavier, but they are a 15" woofer. Nothing to play around with, but very manageable for a medium sized guy. I am 5'11", 200 lbs, I don't work out, and I have no problems with them.

They sound great, The power is exceptional, and I don't know if you can get another speaker that offers everything that this one does for less. If you are looking for a great speaker that will give you lots of power and reliability, get this speaker!

Terrible Sound

Terrible sound quality. Guys, please don't buy a speaker that costs under $300, at least. Especially a 15" top.

Comments about Behringer B215XL 15" 1000W Passive PA Speaker:

They can sound a bit "boxey" along with too much high end, yet the equalizer fixes these great value speakers into some great sounding speakers as well.
Regular tip sleeve or neutrik connectors in parallel
Nice high impact plastic. Have them crossed over at 80Hz and they take Gobbs of power
I purchased a pair of these with low expectations. Yet I must say I am buying another pair for more coverage and ending up with more coverage for less money.

Comments about Behringer B215XL 15" 1000W Passive PA Speaker:

I've been using my JBL JRX112M's as live sound monitors and small PA setups (wedding ceremonies, etc) for several years now. When new, the JRX's were okay, but had a somewhat nasal tone with little high end and no bass. Eventually, all the cheap, dull-sounding horn drivers blew, and I replaced them with Selenium units that brought out the high end nicely. But now, I've replaced all my JRX's with Behringer B215XL's and couldn't be happier! The B215XL's handle about the same power, weigh less, and their tone is full-range and relatively smooth...not nasal like the JRX's. The B215XL's actually have some nice bass! Plus, the B215XL's have 4 input jacks (2 Speakon and 2 1/4") compared to the JRX's annoying 2 (1+1). The B215XL's wider frequency voice should allow me to use them for even more situations, such as mains for an acoustic act. Nice job, Behringer!

Comments about Behringer B215XL 15" 1000W Passive PA Speaker:

Great sound. Lightweight. Durable. I bought a pair of these to run off a QSC amp. I am VERY happy with them. So happy, in fact, I bought a 2nd pair for gigs that required more sound (football field event that needed wiiiiiiide coverage and volume.) I had tried the Macky Thump15's and was VERY disappointed. They clipped at 1/4 volume... these cabs seem to LOVE anything I throw at them. I dig em.
      Great sound. Lightweight. Durable.

      Big Sound, Little Price

      By Jorge Santamaria

Comments about Behringer B215XL 15" 1000W Passive PA Speaker:

As I'm getting older it sucks to breakdown old, heavy equipment. These speakers have the big club sound that we need for high-end and mid-range vocals and acoustic guitars, but don't weigh nearly as much as their competitors.

Paired up with 900W amp and a good cross-over, you can get some quality sound out of these. Used at our gig this past weekend and they performed well. Got lots of compliments on the clarity of sound.
These units are awesome for the price.

      These will do the job

Comments about Behringer B215XL 15" 1000W Passive PA Speaker:

I have used everything under the sun, from Vdosc linearray to Gemini Dj cabinets. I think these cabinets are very good for the money and for a light Dj rig they are great or even a small ensemble or a soloist. I bought them for a Dj rig and 4 of them do just fine paired with my custom built Fitzmaurice subs. I unlike most guys process the heck out of these to protect them drivers and most cabinets when eq'd and processed well they will usually take what you dish out if you stay in the parameters set by the manufacturer. These are 250 watts continuous so I don't push them past there limit. Give yourself a little headroom with your power amp and you'll be fine. I cut the lows off at 125Hz and these cabinets scream from 125Hz up...They do produce pretty good lows but I know I wouldn't push a lot of lows through a plastic cab just for personal reasons. Buy em and you'll like em'...

Comments about Behringer B215XL 15" 1000W Passive PA Speaker:

I upgraded from the 12" version of these to get a bit more punch in the midbass. They can handle some 80-125hz but they can't pump out as much power as I expected. Two of these were barely audible as a vocal PA with about 80-100people in a medium sized bar with unmic'd drums and people shouting. The sound just dropped about 10' away.
They handled about 250-275 watts pretty well and didn't break down after pushing them to the max for a whole show. I'm looking at stepping up to the VP2520's for the next show. For something like a basement or standard house party, a pair of these will have plenty of sound, but a sub is needed to cover the low end <80Hz. Very portable and the speakon jacks are nice.
