Comments about Behringer B512DSP 600W 12" Active Loudspeaker:

These are great speakers. Great as monitors or mains. Love the EQ and 2 inputs. Timer is a nice feature too. Yes they are heavy but worth it. I have these on poles so don't deal with the stacking issues that other people have? The only gripe I had with these is the power cord that comes with it sucks. Doesn't fit good and when you move the cord at all the speaker shuts off and on! I had some better quality ones on hand and then everything was fine. It is a standard cord so easy to find.

Comments about Behringer B512DSP 600W 12" Active Loudspeaker:

When these went on sale, I thought why not? Great price, decent power. If they didn't cut it, no big loss. I'd put em my practice room for a playback system. I read in the reviews that they were heavy, but I wasn't going to be moving them that much. I ordered a pair and then the next day I ordered another pair, thinking I'd build up a nice little sound system for the practice room for slim money.

Being Behringers, I sprang the little extra money for the extended warranty. Better safe than sorry...

They came in quick as usual from MF and I was home to take delivery when they arrived. I have to say all of the boxes looked a bit worse for wear, with one box totally opened down one seam. and the other boxes with various dents and holes . I was not surprised after I opened and removed the speakers, as they weigh the full 65 lbs. as stated in the product info. Anything that heavy is going to be manhandled a lot to ship it anywhere.

To my surprise, the speakers themselves were totally fine, and I started to set them up in my garage to try them out.

I decided to not put them up on top of a pair of my subs (because I didn't want to try and lift them that high on a mounting pole after all the unpacking), so I figured I just stack them two high on either side of the room.

Thats when I found out they only had three rubber legs to stand on (because of the built-in monitor angle feature) and where, for me, not the stable stack of speakers I have set up. To be fair, they are made for poles, and they do have indents in the top of the speaker to receiver the rubber feet of the next mounted unit.

Hooked them up to a new Behringer XR18 wireless mixing box and pumped some music thru them. They sounded decent at first try, and after some EQ to balance out the room, I was totlly smiling at the SPL and clean sound I was able to achieve from the speakers. Well worth the money. Way better than any Mackies I've heard.

So do your back a huge favor, get a good handtruck or dolly with all the money you're gonna save with these babies..... And enjoy...

This Speaker

By JustDJBlake

from DC

Comments about Behringer B512DSP 600W 12" Active Loudspeaker:

Pros:Just got this speaker. Over all, for a plastic cabinate and 12" speaker, it sounds pretty good. Very loud, and pretty decent bass for what it's worth. Should run with a sub if your a DJ, so you won't have a tendency to drive them so hard. I bought these to do small venus with, without dragging my big powerful rig in all the time. So far, I think that they will do real nice. I did not want the 15's, because it would defeat the purpose of getting small speakers.Cons:Verrry heavy. A ton! You better be able to lift 60lbs high enough to put them on stands. I mean, they are heavy (for small plastic speakers), but I guess the amp weighs alot, plus I hear the woofer magnet isn't no joke. Also, they a wobbly when sitting on the floor by themselves. Only 3 feet - goofy.Overall: If they hold up, being Behringer has a reputation of having elaborte stuff, but cheap, they are real nice. I didn't want the Mackies. The little EQ functions and internal processor sold me. I turned them up cash loud, and they still sounded good. Now don't try to blow them. There only 12" cabs. If you need something more, get the big boy stuff. EV, EAW, even Peavey!

Comments about Behringer B512DSP 600W 12" Active Loudspeaker:

I have had these speakers about 2 years now. The only drawback is they are heavy, heavy, heavy...BUT they are awsome...I run a DJ service and they have never failed me,,,unlike other Behringer products. They are made well and can take high power punishment and road use...I highly recommend them...I was very surprised at the sound...very very close to the Mackie RSM 450...great speaker and for the price...cant be beat.

Live Band Monitor

By Zajdeld

from Greensburg, PA

Comments about Behringer B512DSP 600W 12" Active Loudspeaker:

I purchased this product so that my stage monitoring needs would be independent from the rest of the band. I am always asking for more vocal, or more acoustic guitar in the wedge. I first tried the TC Helicon Soloist XT. It did not cut it for a live, loud band. This Behringer product does. It has 2 independent line/mic inputs. The quality of the vocal and acoustic guitar (actually a LR Baggs X-bridge) both sound great. There was enough volume in the self contained amp to satisfy my needs, which unfortunately is a lot due to 30 plus years playing live. It has a very useful built in noise gate, and an automatic power off feature that powers down the amp after 3 minutes of inactivity. It comes back on as soon as an input is above the gate threshhold. If you are thinking of buying a powered speaker for personal monitoring or as a main speaker, you won't be disappointed in this one. I also own many other Behringer products. This one could be the best one yet! The price is reasonable for what you get.
