Behringer

Super-low price for a full-featured mixing desk.

The Behringer XENYX 1202 mixing console has 12 inputs and an FX send control for each channel. Additionally, assignable CD/tape inputs have been incorporated for routing flexibility. The XENYX Mic Preamp approaches the sound quality, transparency, headroom, and even the dynamic range of boutique-style, standalone mic preamps. Behringer's neo-classic "British EQ" brings back the warmth and musicality of those '60s and '70s mega-console desks that made music history.

Features

  • Premium ultra low-noise, high headroom analog mixer
  • 4 state-of-the-art XENYX Mic Preamps comparable to standalone boutique preamps
  • Neo-classic "British" 3-band EQs for warm and musical sound
  • 1 post fader FX send per channel for external FX devices
  • Main mix outputs plus separate control room, phones and stereo CD/tape outputs
  • CD/tape inputs assignable to main mix or control room/phones outputs
  • FX to control room function helps to monitor effect signal via headphones and control room outputs
  • Long-wearing 60-mm logarithmic-taper master fader and sealed rotary controls
  • High-quality components and exceptionally rugged construction ensure long life

This mixer works great for my band. The nice part is that we use a electronic drum set so it only takes up one channel. That gives the other three to bass, guitar, and vocals. It works out great. Also, it is very great to use live.

I plug this mixer into my yamaha audiogram 3 USB interface for my demo studio. It does exactly what a mixer is suppost to do, transfer and mix audio. The power chord isnt very stable, but this isnt a road mixer. as long as your using it in the studio, its amazing as long as you have good Mics ect.

This is the fourth little Behringer I've bought -- the second for me, the other two for a church and school where I consult on sound.  It's still a great value, but there are some glitches this time around.  As another reviewer noted, the power connector doesn't seem to seat securely.  And my unit has a slightly bent or warped frame, so it doesn't sit flat.  Also, the power LED is insanely bright.  It has plenty of oomph with a piece of electrical tape over it.  Otherwise, this mixer has all the features and solid feel (for the size) you expect from Behringer.

I purchased this mixer and was hoping to use it with the Behringer rca-usb u-control. It works like a charm. Almost no noise from the pre-amps, and a really nice British EQ. I would recommend that you spend the extra 20 bucks and get the Xenyx 1202FX to get all of those effects, but if you don't need FX, then this is the way to go.

I wanted to start recording some stuff about a year ago, but had no recording gear. I saw this mixer and bought it almost straight away! The eq is the best I've used and there is very little noise. I plug the fx send out into my behringer v-amp 2 to use as an enhancer/reverb machine and bring the stereo outputs of the v-amp back into the mix, and it sounds great! I recommend this mixer to anyone who wants to start recording.
