I was kind of skeptical about the Behringer seeing as how I've had some iffy opinions about it with fellow DJs but I can't say any negative things about this board.
One issue I came across was the first mixer I got had a short or something in the fourth channel and some of the audio outputs. Sent it back and got a replacement no problem. Got my new board and it works flawlessly, except for the occasional user error ;]
This thing is jammed pack full of little gizmos. Everything you could want in a mixer for it's level is built right into the board. The effects are outstanding and contain anything and everything you'd need. I personally love the simple high-pass but this thing seriously has EVERY effect you could really think of.
I only bumped it down from a 10 to a 9 because the sampler is a little dry, though I haven't really taken the time to learn how to use it properly. It's never really interested me and the times I've tried to play with it it seemed like way too much set-up, so don't rely on it too much unless you are willing to work with it.
Incredible quality for this price-range as well. Audio is clear and crisp," it keeps its levels great -- everything. I haven't had an issue with mine as far as quality goes.
One teensy ""feature"" that I have a nearly unoticable issue with is", when playing low-frequency music such as some dubstep songs, the effects processor, when enabled, will have a high-pass cut of 20Hz that you cannot change other than to turn the effect off. Other than that the full frequency range is sent through, which is fine for me :]
Not much to say other than I seriously got way more than what I paid for!

The quality of this mixer is very low, the knob and faders all feel flimsy and buttons don't feel nice either. The effects sound very cheesie. I would not feel comfortable using this mixer on the road do to the cheap build. I now have a Allen & Heath Xone 42 which was alot more money and less features but the sound quality is amazing and the build is awesome. Also the analog filters are amazing.

Comments about Behringer DDM4000 Pro Digital DJ Mixer:
This is a great mixer I only have one gripe. I know for the cost that it is loaded with all the bells however they should make a version 2 of this mixer! I am clear that they'd charge more; however, this goes with the territory. This mixer should be recreated with a Traktor Scratch Ready Logo/hardware. As it stands now you can midi map this thing to Traktor but you have to by a Traktor A6 or A10 to get it to hook up to your computer for time code. I would be in total awe of this thing if I didn't require that Traktor Sound Card as I use time code and work with limited space..Oh please make a version 2 of this thing!

The Behringer DDM4000 PRO DIGITAL DJ MIXER works for all of my needs. The effects machine works great and I use it often. I was hesitant at first because of its low price , but I have been using it for a long time and I love it!! I have used many other Behringer mixers and they all work well.
Comments about Behringer DDM4000 Pro Digital DJ Mixer:
Iv'e had my DDM 4000 for about a year now and it still never stops to amaze me! The fact u can assigne the effects to a specific channel, THEN to a specific band on that channel is phanominal. The look of it is very clean and professinal. Its also strong, Mine has been thru hell and back and it still has all its original buttons and knobs. In my personal oppinion and may others that have used the mixer in my area. We beleive its as good or in some cases better then any Pionner.
Comments about Behringer DDM4000 Pro Digital DJ Mixer:
This was a huge step up from my old 2 channel. I love having the sampler, dual assignable bpm counters, effects, eq kill switches. The midi just takes it off the charts. The learning curve is a bit rough. I get hum from output A. Some of the buttons are tiny and the lettering can be difficult to read in low lighting. The biggest con for me is that the user settings don't want to save and reload. I'm guessing there is a dead battery inside maybe.
Comments about Behringer DDM4000 Pro Digital DJ Mixer:
I bought this mixer recently, a little tentatively of course due to Behringer's "reputation" for mixers. I however found that (especially for the price) This is a fantastic mixer and now my standard backup. I join it with Traktor Pro and an Audio 8 DJ and the results are Phenomenal. This mixer is definitely worth the price, It has all the features of most mixers upwards of 600 (~$100) and in some cases, features that those mixers lack. This mixer is very simple to use in every way the controls are very self explanatory. I recommend This mixer to1.Beginners---2. people looking to start to get serious about Djing--3. Pros looking for a good backup.
Comments about Behringer DDM4000 Pro Digital DJ Mixer:
This is a great mixer. I'd say it is a better value than the Pioneer DJM-800: the effects don't pop when you turn them on, the EQ knobs have an accurate frequency range, I like the low-mid-high kill buttons, great sound quality, MIDI assignable knobs, 1/4 the price. The subwoofer out is nice if you are running a powered monitors setup. There is a built-in cross-over and gain control. I've got some low-end KRKs with matching sub and it's a great house-party rig. There is a learning curve for some of the user interface so keep up with your manual.
Comments about Behringer DDM4000 Pro Digital DJ Mixer:
I've owned this mixer for a little over 2 months now and I must say it was well worth it. The features that you get with this mixer are insane for the low price tag. It may look cluttered at first to some but within a day I had the whole thing figured out. The FX are great and easy to use. You will hear people complain about the blue LED's at the top but behringer seemed to have taken that into consideration because mine did NOT have those blue LED's that are really bright. I would definitley recommend this mixer.
Comments about Behringer DDM4000 Pro Digital DJ Mixer:
To complain about the LEDs is just petty. If you get the know the layout of the mixer you can run it in complete darkness. I started using it right out of the box with no manual. I own tons of production hardware, so navigating the menu is a breeze. Menu is very simple, and fast moving layout. Speed is very critical to most styles of DJing. Sound quality is top notch even through the RCA out. At 1/4 the price of Pioneer DJM and it does the same thing. Some things better. I actually think the MIDI sync and control is better on the DDM. At the end of the day, you are the DJ. Not the mixer. If you'd rather pay a grand or more for popularity be my guest. DJM series is surviving off it's popularity, not it's function and value. My previous mixer was a Behringer bought in 2001. Still runs like a champ for all you skeptics out there of Behringer's longevity.
