Behringer

Bring a new level of professionalism to your show.

The Behringer EUROLIGHT LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console is a professional 24-channel DMX lighting console with 24 preset channels assignable to 512 DMX channels. 120 scenes are storable in 10 banks, and there is an integrated chaser with up to 650 steps featuring sync-to-bass beat plus a frequency-dependent sound-to-light function. Crossfade time is freely selectable, allowing for super-smooth scene fades and there are two additional, multifunctional channels for special effects (e.g., fog machine, color changer). You get ultraflexible fading functions for manual and automatic operation and intuitive solo and channel flash functions. The extremely effective preview function allows hidden memory and chaser checks--even during live performances.

The LC2412 also features dimmer control via DMX or analog output (0/+10 V) plus a MIDI interface for cascading two LC2412s (master/slave setup) and a PCMCIA card slot for storing of up to 25 complete settings with an optional card.

Illuminated display/controls and BNC lamp sockets guarantee easy operation in dark stage environments. The whole unit is ruggedly constructed and its steel casing ensures long life even under the most demanding conditions. A rackmounting kit is included.

If you thought Behringer only made cheap products.

You would be correct again! I never write reviews and never thought I would but I have had enough! I will never buy another Behringer product period! With all the features this product had I thought maybe they finally made a great product. It felt well built and when it did work the features were cool. However,it never made it on stage because every time I would set a program it would jump out of the patch and just start flashing. I looked for a solution and found many people with the same problem that apparently Behringer has been aware of for a while now. Still they continue to sell this product. Shame on them! If your time is worth more to you than money find another light console. ANY other console!

I use Martin Light Jockey with the free software add on Faders(MIDI to DMX translator for 0-255 fader values from MIDI!!) with a BCF2000 MIDI to usb so that I can get into Light Jockey. I then serial link an LC2412 board from MIDI out to MIDI in on the BCF2000(also an inexpensive Berhinger gem!) which gives me a total of 39 faders and eight rotary encoders that are fully patchable @DMX in on Light Jockey or through the global patch.   IF you use Light Jockey I strongly recommend you check this out.    Best bang for your buck period! Peace from a controller freak.

A light board for small venue ballet

I've used this board for several choral concerts and small venue (story)ballet performances. There are so many features I'll probably never use & the manual goes into great detail about THOSE. However, I use it in the "THEATRE" mode*. (only 1/2 page in the book) *Basically, a 99 step, manually triggered, individually timed, Chase!  Works well during programming and going forward.  DOESN'T step back well!  But,you can work around it's shortcomings.   The combo analog / DMX outputs are great!  One venue had 12 channels of analog Dove dimmers in-house.  No prob driving. I added my own Chauvet DMX lighting to augment.  I programmed show - teens ran it - worked fine!  For cheap and dirty show control with combo analog & simple DMX - I'd recommend!

Great product for the money. Have had some problems with the board losing its memory. However I got a memory card and saved the info so if it happens again. Other than that I'm amazed at the the things this board will do.

If you expect to pull this unit out of the box and get it working, forget it. If you expect to read half the manual and get it working, forget it. The manual and user interface is virtually useless until you take a lot of time and fully study the product inside and out. I cannot recommend this product to anyone unless they like studying badly-written tech manuals trying to figure out how things work, as opposed to getting down to the business of working lights.
