Class-D amplifiers (with switch-mode power supplies) drive the custom-designed low frequency drivers for sonically optimized output. The B1500D-PRO also provides you with a much better power-to weight ratio than other 1400W active subwoofers.
Put simply, this cool-running system is much lighter, making it ultra-easy to transport and set up. Its no-compromise design means you get amazingly-deep, chest-pounding bass that will keep the party going all night long. What is Class-D Technology?
Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps switch on and off thousands of times per second, delivering power only when needed. In other words, the amplifier is either fully on or fully off, which significantly reduces power losses from the output devices given off as heat. Less heat means this amp doesn’t need a massive heat sink, which keeps it lighter. The B1500D-PRO's design delivers full power with incredible fidelity all night long, without the need for lengthy rest cycles.
When used in conjunction with switching-mode power supplies, which don’t require huge and heavy transformers, BEHRINGER's Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous dynamic punch and superior fidelity.
Custom-Designed Transducers
Since the transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear, BEHRINGER custom-designs and builds their transducers from scratch. Not only do they wind their own voice coils, they process the paper pulp into cones and even machine their own backplates.
Take control
The B1500D-PRO features balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR THRU jacks for connecting additional enclosures. A BOOST FREQUENCY knob targets a boost frequency between 45Hz and 90Hz. Flick the BOOST switch to give your selected frequency a +6 dB boost. These subs also feature a HIGH CUT dial to control the upper corner frequency for the subwoofer’s amplifier. The HIGH CUT dial does not affect the THRU signals, only signals directed to the subwoofer (however, it does affect the signals sent out through the Output sockets of the subwoofer to reach the full-range speakers). A LEVEL knob controls the input gain, and the PHASE switch reverses output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including power, signal present, and input overloads.

First of all, I was sent a used, broken sub from Musicians Friend in a plain cardboard box with no packing material. It was obviously broken and used since the missing corners that were broken off the sub weren't even in the box! Also there were monitor feet marks on the top of the sub from the previous owner. I am still shocked that they sent this to me after I paid for a new one.
Now, as far as the review. After I received a new sub in the correct packaging from "different" dealer, I was very satisfied with the preformance of this sub. It will be hard to beat it in this price range.

Love these subs. Behringer has continued to impress me over the last 5 years or so. I pair these with the b815neo's when I need more bass for larger rooms. I bought one and then bought another about a year later. They really add some kick to the show, I thought about getting the 18 inchers but these are just heavy enough, I can lift one of these on my own but I only want to lift enough to get it on the dolly or cart. The sound is very tight and I have no complaints, especially since I bought a level 4 that was not supposed to sound good and was dented. The only problem was a dent in the front grill which was easily removed. It was only about 3 months old and looked and performed like new after the minor repair. These pound all night and I usually only turn it up 1/4 of the way. I have been a DJ for over 25 years. Speakers have come a long way, I don't miss the amp racks!

Immediate impact over previous smaller sub.
Makes bass and drums from DR-880 very realistic.
Nylon acoustic/electric can now have the weight of a grand piano if so desired. Enhances the lower portion of vocals as well. Using this with a Behringer powered board with a sub out feature.
Board output--1/4 in phone plug. Sub input--XLR only. [?] Bought an impedance converter--did the job. Overall sound is great.

The sound quality is off the charts. I never push my speakers, and you don't need to push this one. The durable housing makes these speakers easy to transport without damage. The controls are all tight and accurate. When using the boost feature the sound does not distort. These speakers make things in the room move, but there is no vibration in inside the speaker. I am very pleased. This product offers great quality and value. The staff at MF is most helpfull. Ships fast too. MF offers 45 day return policy. After spending many thousands with MF - I have no need to return anything.

I did a lot of research on this sub before I bought a pair and the reviews were all good. So I took the chance and bought a pair and Let me tell you I WAS SURPRISED!!! THe sound quality is great and has a nice punchy bass put the boost button on and the sound tranforms and the bass starts to really boom. Can't wait to use these at my next gig. Now I dont have to lug my dual 18 subs around.YES!!!!
These are going to save me on setup time and also save some space in my car. Great Sound and Build quality. It's heavy......
