I have used a pretty wide range of monitor cabinets over the years and decided to give a small personal unit a try.
My Rhythm guitarist liked the way mine worked so much he bought one as well. The lead guitarist and drummer are looking at getting them too! (Now to convince the 3rd guitarist and sax player to jump on the bandwagon.)
Carrying this little workhorse around sure beats lugging a bunch of Peavey 112 TLMs all over creation. We'll still use a couple of full sized floor units to fill from the sides but 2 cabinets are a far sight better to lug than 6 or 8!
The 3 way parametric EQ alone makes this unit worth its weight in gold.
If you are so inclined you can daisy chain several units together (but you'll need to go from XLR thru to 1/4" male). It would be nice if they would have provided the option of XLR thru to XLR input or 1/4' to 1/4" but it's not a really big deal. Just get a cable with XLR - 1/4" and you're set.
The volume controls let me adjust the level without having to get the sound tech's attention and then make funny gestures as to tell him to turn my monitor up or worse yet, the ever so unprofessional "announcement" over the PA that I need more monitor.
I'm a short guy (5' 4") and with a straight mic stand set all the way down the angle works just fine for me. I have mine mounted on its own stand and my mic separate on a boom stand with the monitor placed slightly to my right. Using an ElectroVoice N/D 967 mic I have zero feedback issues. If you experience feedback you may want to consider getting a better mic (it really IS worth the extra $$$ in the long run).
I've had mine for a little over a year now and it's held up wonderfully with no issues at all. The sound quality is good (what can one expect from a very small cabinet) and actually way beyond what I expected from such a small package.
You can't beat it for the price! At 1/2 the cost of the Mackie unit (BTW...they are the same) this one is definitely the way to go in a personal stage monitor!

After twenty years of playing in various bands I decided that it was time to downsize. My last regular full sized band had been reduced to a trio and when the drummer moved out of state my partner and I decided not to replace him figuring that we could work more often, for more money if we used a laptop with midi created tracks and a few sound modules. This was a great success. We worked our asses off because we could work cheaper and fit in smaller rooms and restaurants. About fifteen years ago I decided to make us a pair mic stand mounted monitors. I attached some Yamaha speaker/mic stand adaptors to a pair of Roland MC-12 desk top active monitors. This worked great. We could place the monitors right next to our regular mic stands and the small but mighty Rolands have done a pretty decent job for the past 15 years or so. I recently decided it was time to see if I could find something better out there. I saw the stand type monitors by Mackie, Galaxy, and others but the price was way too high to replace what I had and was pretty pleased with but I knew that sometime soon the Rolands would have to go. I have always had good luck with Behringer and Mackie equipment in fact my whole PA system is based on a pair of Mackie Active Thump 15 speakers for bottom, a Mackie 1202 board and a pair of Behringer B212 active speakers on stands for mids and highs. I have never had a problem with any of my Mackie or Behringer equipment. Based on the price I went with the Behringer 205 monitor since it looked like a clone of the Mackie monitor. Im glad I did. I dont know how much better the Mackie monitor is but the Behringer 205 is great at only half the price. The clarity is great and there is more than enough power for me personally. Some reviewers complained that the boom stand adapter was not good. Mine seemed but since only recently started using these monitors I should give it some additional time before making a final judgment. I also read that some people thought the angle of tilt when the monitor was on the mic stand was not ideal. Maybe I got lucky and the person who made that judgment at Behringer was 5 11 like me because the angle suits me fine. Needless to say my partner and I love these monitors. Just an FYI that may be important. We use Shure SM-58 mics for vocals. The SM-58 has very good rear signal rejection. My mic is on a boom stand (connected to the Behringers supplied monitor boom adapter) and is a good foot and a half out in front and over the monitor facing slightly up. If you experiencing feedback you may have to consider the mics you are using. Maybe your mics pattern is super cardioid and is picking up more sound (a wider pattern) than the SM-58. We have been able to really crank these things up with no feedback.
Lots of useful inputs and outputs.
Haven't had it long enough to judge the quality but I have other Behringer equipment and have not had any problems.
Half the price of a Mackie monitor and less that the active Galaxy that has no features at all.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B205D Active PA/Monitor Speaker:
I use this in a contemporary Church Band, I play guitar and sing. I am using this as intended, it is about 3 feet from my face pointed right at me. I have my mic in the path of the sound but it is a high end super cardoid pattern dynamic mic, so no feedback issues at all. I have the speaker mounted on my best mic stand and it seems solid, works great. I am on the back wall about 3 feet stage right from the drum set. I am hearing well enough now to nail my part in tight harmonies and getting myself situated correctly in the mix overall. Biggest problem was figuring out that I needed to turn the volume way down since it was crystal clear. We run a monitor mix basically the same as the FOH mix since the monitors actually get heard in FOH at the volumes we use in a smallish chapel. I simply grabbed a line out from the keyboard player's Mackie version of this same basic monitor and shot it to mine, sounds identical to us.
As to lack of bass response, well, we get the bass from the FOH speakers pretty well anyway. I mean the bas frequencies seem to travel better than the higher stuff in general in any setting. What we lose behind the speaker line is the mids and highs. This is what we need to sing well together, especially with tight harmonies or solo additions to group songs.
I have already recommended this to a couple of other guys in the band, especially the lead singer but it seems singers never actually buy any equipment, "that's what you instrument guys are for..."
Oh. I would be remiss if I did not say that I got an excellent deal on this unit too. I only buy equipment with gig money and that is infrequent and hard to come by. I was a bit tiny short and had decided it wasn't worth risking the wrath of wife to make the deal now, I would just keep hauling in my 12" wedge monitor for the summer until I hit a couple more chances to increase my gig money bin. No problem, MF made me an offer i couldn't refuse and gave it to me for exactly what I had in the fund. It wasn't the amount but the eagerness to help out a fellow musician and make the right sale, I was actually thinking of getting a really cheap "Kustom" version of this instead), that made me feel so well treated that day.
Looking back this is pretty much the way all my dealings with MF have been throughout the years. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B205D Active PA/Monitor Speaker:
Originally I purchased one for my son so he can crank up the music while practicing. Since they passed that test I decided to purchase 4 units to use in a live performance to help with monitoring. Well I was in a smaller church venue (100 people) and these monitors worked perfect. This church had two 15" floor monitors and two 15" house swpeakers. I used one unit for the piano player to amplify his piano so he was not just relying on the house monitors to hear. One for the bass player to hear the lead vocal, one for the drummer, and one for lead vocal singer. Everyone was able to customize their own mix and volume. We play loud, and these units held up without a hitch. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. I never write a review but this product deserves a thumb up.

I bought one of these Gems about a year ago. I use it for my Guitar rig monitor. It fits just about anywhere on a crowed stage. I've been so happy with the first one, that I bought a second unit.
Now I have super compact PA rig.

This is my second one. I use two as a stereo PA for small venue live performances (vocals and acoustic guitar). The mic stand mounting is great for elevating the speakers so you can be heard. Add a flexable gooseneck and it doubles as your mic stand. Great price.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B205D Active PA/Monitor Speaker:
Our band of 5 players and 5 voices has struggled with monitoring for some time. We cannot afford in-ear solutions. These Behrunger monitors have finally solved the problems. I'm a singing drummer and now I clearly hear my voice and the other singers as well as the keyboards. No feedback. Easy to include in my kit setup. They're loud with room to spare and they don't interfere with the bands sound. Now the singing keyboardist uses one as well with good results.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B205D Active PA/Monitor Speaker:
Just got my Behringer personal monitor and I am very impressed with the sound, quality and flexibility. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that I have no problems with it in the future but so far this little unit is simply terrific for the money! It has a very nice 3 band e.q. and each band actually works! The bass e.q. adds a substantial amount of bass, the mid e.q. cuts in the correct range for vocals (I'm guessing in the 900 – 1,500hz range)
It is nearly "noiseless" and I wouldn't have expected it to sound this good for the price. I ran an SM-57 directly into the unit (worked great) and then I fed an aux in from my mixer into for a "full band" vocal mix and it performed very well.
My acoustic group has been using the small Yamaha (5"??) powered monitors for years (and they are also terrific) but I have to say I think the Behringer personal monitor will sound just as good and possibly better due to it's higher output internal power amp.
It also has a "mike adapter" setup on the top of the cabinet so a person could simply mount the Behr on their mike stand, add a little extension like a "boom" and you would have a very stage clean personal mike/monitor setup…this is what I'm planning on doing with my setup.
Like I said before I'll keep my fingers crossed that the unit holds up but so far I'm extremely impressed and considering buying a second one for future use and a mini p.a.
I think two of these units could handle an acoustic duo for a crowd of 15-20 people with no problems.
Thanks Behringer!

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE B205D Active PA/Monitor Speaker:
Can work like a charm, but after using three times, the gain easily overloads our new Passport 300 board, blinking red for clipping. Also, the monitor volume not effective unless turned nearly to "10".
And with my drums set in the corner of madium-size venue, with some glass surfaces present, the unit was not usable because of feedback. With no headphone jack, no option to monitor available in such a typical situation! Frustrating!
