I have used a pretty wide range of monitor cabinets over the years and decided to give a small personal unit a try.

My Rhythm guitarist liked the way mine worked so much he bought one as well. The lead guitarist and drummer are looking at getting them too! (Now to convince the 3rd guitarist and sax player to jump on the bandwagon.)

Carrying this little workhorse around sure beats lugging a bunch of Peavey 112 TLMs all over creation. We'll still use a couple of full sized floor units to fill from the sides but 2 cabinets are a far sight better to lug than 6 or 8!
The 3 way parametric EQ alone makes this unit worth its weight in gold.

If you are so inclined you can daisy chain several units together (but you'll need to go from XLR thru to 1/4" male). It would be nice if they would have provided the option of XLR thru to XLR input or 1/4' to 1/4" but it's not a really big deal. Just get a cable with XLR - 1/4" and you're set.

The volume controls let me adjust the level without having to get the sound tech's attention and then make funny gestures as to tell him to turn my monitor up or worse yet, the ever so unprofessional "announcement" over the PA that I need more monitor.

I'm a short guy (5' 4") and with a straight mic stand set all the way down the angle works just fine for me. I have mine mounted on its own stand and my mic separate on a boom stand with the monitor placed slightly to my right. Using an ElectroVoice N/D 967 mic I have zero feedback issues. If you experience feedback you may want to consider getting a better mic (it really IS worth the extra $$$ in the long run).
I've had mine for a little over a year now and it's held up wonderfully with no issues at all. The sound quality is good (what can one expect from a very small cabinet) and actually way beyond what I expected from such a small package.
You can't beat it for the price! At 1/2 the cost of the Mackie unit (BTW...they are the same) this one is definitely the way to go in a personal stage monitor!

After twenty years of playing in various bands I decided that it was time to downsize. My last regular full sized band had been reduced to a trio and when the drummer moved out of state my partner and I decided not to replace him figuring that we could work more often, for more money if we used a laptop with midi created tracks and a few sound modules. This was a great success. We worked our asses off because we could work cheaper and fit in smaller rooms and restaurants. About fifteen years ago I decided to make us a pair mic stand mounted monitors. I attached some Yamaha speaker/mic stand adaptors to a pair of Roland MC-12 desk top active monitors. This worked great. We could place the monitors right next to our regular mic stands and the small but mighty Rolands have done a pretty decent job for the past 15 years or so. I recently decided it was time to see if I could find something better out there. I saw the stand type monitors by Mackie, Galaxy, and others but the price was way too high to replace what I had and was pretty pleased with but I knew that sometime soon the Rolands would have to go. I have always had good luck with Behringer and Mackie equipment in fact my whole PA system is based on a pair of Mackie Active Thump 15 speakers for bottom, a Mackie 1202 board and a pair of Behringer B212 active speakers on stands for mids and highs. I have never had a problem with any of my Mackie or Behringer equipment. Based on the price I went with the Behringer 205 monitor since it looked like a clone of the Mackie monitor. Im glad I did. I dont know how much better the Mackie monitor is but the Behringer 205 is great at only half the price. The clarity is great and there is more than enough power for me personally. Some reviewers complained that the boom stand adapter was not good. Mine seemed but since only recently started using these monitors I should give it some additional time before making a final judgment. I also read that some people thought the angle of tilt when the monitor was on the mic stand was not ideal. Maybe I got lucky and the person who made that judgment at Behringer was 5 11 like me because the angle suits me fine. Needless to say my partner and I love these monitors. Just an FYI that may be important. We use Shure SM-58 mics for vocals. The SM-58 has very good rear signal rejection. My mic is on a boom stand (connected to the Behringers supplied monitor boom adapter) and is a good foot and a half out in front and over the monitor facing slightly up. If you experiencing feedback you may have to consider the mics you are using. Maybe your mics pattern is super cardioid and is picking up more sound (a wider pattern) than the SM-58. We have been able to really crank these things up with no feedback.
Lots of useful inputs and outputs.
Haven't had it long enough to judge the quality but I have other Behringer equipment and have not had any problems.
Half the price of a Mackie monitor and less that the active Galaxy that has no features at all.

I just came off my first gig with this little guy. It's plenty loud enough and I could hear myself sing backing vocals for the first time! My guitar came through loud and clear as well. Great value.

As a professional Storyteller, my sound system has to be small enough to carry by myself and big enough to fill a gym full of 400 kids. This little system is the answer to the question! I don't need full fidelity since I am speaking not singing, but this still give the quality I need. I can carry it in a bag over my shoulder and it can blast out to fill the gym or be quiet enough to let senior audiences hear what is being said without feeling they have been blasted out. For the price, you just cannot find a small speakers amp to use.

I've had this unit for about a year & everytime I use it I'm impressed. I've used it in small to medium size venues performing Blues/ Classic Rock & it has been very adequate. I've used it primarily on a stand with the boom feature but this past weekend I put the monitor on its own stand, wow, really worked well could postion more exact, I feel it's great quality the price.

The light weight (7 lbs) sold me . I can't beleive the volume that comes out of this small piece of equipment. I use it for small venues and jamming and singing outdoors. Love that I can plug in my instrument and my mic. Wish it had a reverb option to give my voice a little more warmth .I gave it a Good rating rather than excellent just because I have only had it a week or so.

I own three of these Behering B205D powered stage monitors and I have to say they are the best weather you are playing an instrument or vocal through it or both it can handle all of it and still sound superb. I also like it because you can keep it close to you on a stand and it really doesn't take up that much room. I don't like the stage monitors down on the floor so this fits the bill.
