Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE VP1520 1000W 15" PA Speaker:

Behringer makes good stuff at a really good price. I have purchased several other Behringer products over the years and have never been disappointed. I was not disappointed this time either. The speakers are great. They have a very clear, warm, sound and respond well to adjustments made to the EQ on my Behringer powered mixer. They have a great bass presence and also are capable of projecting clear highs. What impressed me the most was the sheer quality of the sound and the ability of the speakers to be very loud without any feed back. If you have a band and need some good P.A. speakers, that won't break your bank, these are a great deal. I previously owned a pair of JBL's which cost twice as much as these and I would put these against the JBL's anytime.
There is one issue that is a positive and a negative. These speaker cabinets are made of wood. They have the nice warm sound that is equated with wood as opposed to fiberglass/epoxy speakers. My first order for these was for a used pair. However, they arrived and one of the speakers was broken up pretty good and I could see that it was made of pressboard as opposed to Plywood. Due the incredible price, this was hardly a surprise and I am certainly not complaining. However, it did give me the idea that they may not be the most durable speakers. I am going to be careful, not toss them around too much and definitely not get them wet. Musician's Friend was really easy to deal with and sent me two new speakers. It was disappointing to have to wait for the new order but, ultimately, they treated me very well. In Summary, I am very pleased with the speakers and highly recommend them. I would also say if you are someone who is rough on your equipment, they do have a comparable speaker that does have a plastic/epoxy cabinet and it might be best for you. However, the sound of these is great and as i am not too tough on my equipment, I would rather have the great sound that the wooden cabinets create. I will just find a different spot to set my open beer! One more thing... Of the two speakers that they originally sent, one was the wrong model. It was the 600 watt version of this speaker. It was okay but I would recommend that you get this model instead. The difference is significant in volume and quality of sound. Have fun...make music!

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE VP1520 1000W 15" PA Speaker:

I picked these speakers up as a entry level set to get me through some upcoming small gigs. I haven't used them out yet, but I have used them at practice and they are some decent speakers. They come across clear and have good power handling. It would be nice if they were a little lighter, but it comes with the territory. The front screen seemed a little light, but it still protects and does the job. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase and will probably pick up the same series for floor monitors.

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE VP1520 1000W 15" PA Speaker:

The VP1520 speaker is a workhorse. I run 4 of them with a Behringer PMP 6000 powered mixer. I have to say it is incredible live sound for such a small system. I run 4 speakers because the mixer is capable of running them and it allows a deeper bass response and no need of subs which I am glad not to have to haul around. Also the depth of power becomes so much deeper. What a great affordable combo. I used to play with large PA systems but learned to balance the power of sound by using proper guitar amp outputs on stage. The most demanding sound being the bass drum and bass guitar. The speaker thrust is so deep. It rolls smoothly back and forth like none I have ever seen. I know they are inexpensive but you would never know it by how good they sound. Very good recoil bounce and reposition on kick drum reset. The titanium hi freq drivers are top of the line. The picture shown here may differ and looks like the VS1520. The VP1520s that I got from MF have a large rectangular flare that really do the job but maybe they changed the cone. Had them for 2 years no problems and they crank. Trick is to use a brick wall limiter which is built into power amps like the PMP 6000. If you buy package deals you can get better deals. These speakers are rated at 250 continuous power. This means it is 500 watts RMS. That is serious power. It is accurate. All Behringer speakers I have ever used were the best sounding speakers IMO and I am very particular. I did a blind test at my local music store. Heard 5 sets and blindly selected the 1520s as the best sounding over much more expensive speakers. That is why I got 4 of them and still saved a lot. The sensitivity level is important. If a speaker is too sensitive it will need to be limited. Speakers rated 94 db sensitivity...are perfect for live band music. Live band is the most demanding and is a perfect ratio for 4 ohm mixing which could be 2 speakers per side. Since they are rated at 8 ohms two in series becomes 4.ohms.
