Great Amp!

| Review By: Rodney Gaskell | 1 month, 1 week ago

Features:

Bought this EP2500 to power four 15" stage monitors. Plenty of power. I have two EP4000's for the mains and have been very happy with their performance. Plenty of headroom for our Classic Rock Band. These amps are heavy, but even though we are all over 60 years old we don't have a problem with carrying them in our rack cases loaded with other units. Great amps and a very reasonable price. We will continue to buy Behringer amps if we need more.

At this price you can't afford to spend more unless you have won the lottery and don't care.

Nice Power Amp

| Review By: Hatchet Man | 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Features:

Has just about everything I wanted, however, be warned it does NOT have 1/4" speaker outputs, so

be prepared to buy speakon cables or do as I did, pick up a couple adapters at the local music store.  Internal fan works well, and so far unit has stayed cool during operation.

Quality:

Chassis is built tough, heavy construction throughout.  The volume nobs seem a bit cheap, but they do what they're supposed to and haven't broken.  Overall good build quality.

Value:

A lot of power amp for the money, I must say.  I like it.

Overall:

Lots of power, good build quality, and very reasonable price.  Best of all, produces good quality sound with low signal noise, gets nice and LOUD.

THESE POWER HEADS WORK GREAT!!! i have 4 they have been thrown around and huled for over 5-6 years now and ive only just now had one die on one side and its from a damaged input if thats not quality i dont know what is!  have wired these down to 2 ohms per channel. these amps dont push any juice untill  you get down to at least 4 ohms they run HOT at 8ohms! open them up and clean them once in a while! dust makes them fry! keep them clean run them at 4 and below ! they ROCK! i have made lots of people deaf with these heads! they are clean raw power! i have ran them to 4 car audio 15s at 2 ohms a channel! and bustes windows with out a hickup! they can handel a load! that was my test just to make sure ive completley melted crowns and peavey heads with my 15s! and these keep on rockin!

I use this for DeeJay'n and live reinforcement and it KICKS. Its worth it for the amount of power to the price. i run it with a Behringer B1800x pro and carin 215 enclosure on top biamped on each side and i can run it all night long at ear splitting levels without even touching the clip led.

Can't Handle Heavy Loads

I own two of these. One powering two Behringer P1520 speakers (640w peak @8ohms), and the other, two P1800S Subs (1700w Peak @4ohms). The sound was better than expected, but these things get hot. Now, one has a problem where when both knobs are turned all the way down, sound still leaks through the right channel, and when both are cranked, the right channel isn't as loud as the left. This has been getting worse each time with use. Another thing that's annoying is that the volume has to be turned all the way down during power up and power down. No relays that turn off the speaker outputs to protect them during this, which even my GemSound xp350 had! The filters are handy, but don't expect this thing to handle anything under 8 ohms. I don't dare use it in bridged mode. I own many Behringer products, and have had few problems. These aren't built to handle what they say they can handle. Get a Crown or QSC. I've used them both and they run cool the entire show. These are now on monitor duty. The fan is back to front cooling, when everything else is front to back. Whose idea was this?! And taking it apart to reverse this voids the warranty, which is a complete joke anyway as this problem occurred just over a year after I bought it. Bottom line, if your going to own one of these, you'll need a backup if you plan on pushing it. but for that price, get a crown xls 802d, or the QSC equivalent. I now have a crown xti4000 for the subs. Built in the USA! Runs cool!
